Rubber Legs
Nobody Cares—
That if you gave me the choice between watching Dancing with the Stars and watching these guy…no contest, this gets my vote.
Nobody is posting this because my dad used to dance JUST like this guy, they called him rubber legs. And the story told to me by my parents was that one night, my dad asked my mom to dance, on a boat here in St. Louis, called the Admiral. Which had a huge ballroom dance floor back in the 1940’s. Dad was in his sailor outfit, and mom was in her sexy little skirt, and the very first time they danced, they cleared the floor and every one on the boat formed a circle around them and clapped because they could do THIS. Back then it was called a Jitterbug Jive, mixed with a “Jersey Bounce.”
But my dad, would also jump high in the air and come down on the other side of my mom, with a BIG grin on his face..and there you go. They got married a year later and then their kids had to learn how to do this.
It may not look hard, but try to keep it up.
Rubber legs, I miss ya. And I would give a year of my life just to do this one…more…time with you.
So men, remember to dance with your daughters…they will love you forever for it.
Enjoy! (Thanks to Tom Beebe)

Wonderful lift me up. They were Great and he was really a mover, wow, just a pure moment of smiles, in an otherwise lousy world as it now is!!! I love watching dancing with the stars and so you think you can dance, why? Because my husband was a dance instructor and I know how hard routines and dance can be. My parents also use to cut up a rug, we would have to push back our rug and move the couch and chairs back and wow they were so happy dancing and us kids loved to watch, their more happier moments, rest assured. and I mean Its not for sissy’s as alot of people think. Watch someone and just remember how long and how hard they had to practice and practice over and over, talk about rubber legs burning!!! I have no artistic dance rhythm in me what so ever, so I can watch and Really appreciate the work and how on these shows they have a small amount of time to practice before they are dancing in front of the world. so please don’t judge the style of dress and such before the talent and work they go through.
Thanks Joy, it was a joy to watch,:)

That deserves a round of applause.
I don’t know why chaps do such things. Of course I do really… it is because women seem to like men dancing. It is great fun to watch grown ups make a damned fool of themselves.
I prefer a bit more ‘grace’ and ‘style’, m’sef. More in line with the more elegant style of the Masai Warriors. Up, and down again is as much as is needed. A bit of ‘height’ is all that can be added to such simplicity. And watching such ‘dance’ is as far as I will go. I can watch a Masai for a full five minutes, but the jitterbuggers wore me out in three.
Lets have a round of applause for the wallflowers.
