How’d That War on Poverty Work Out?
Nobody Remembers
Martin Luther King was shot on April 4, 1968, and yesterday was the anniversary. Riots broke out all over the United States, and cities were destroyed, some never to come back.
And why did riots break out? Because of social democratic engineering. LBJ decided he was going to help the blacks, so he gathered them all up and put them all in housing projects in all the cities.
Basically, he put them all on LBJ’s plantations.
What is it with the Democrats? They love to round people up and put them in pens. Remember Roosevelt did it to the Japanese.
These places soon became drug-infested hopeless rat holes.
Tonight I was reading a speech made by a Dr. Stanley Eitzen, Professor of Sociology, at Colorado State University in 1992. Here are some of the highlights from that speech;
Twenty-two percent of U.S. children under 18 live below the poverty line. About one-half of black children under 18 live below the poverty line. Poor children are more likely than advantaged children to have health problems, to not do well in school, to be truant, troublesome, and to drop out, to be in trouble with law, and as adults, to be unwed parents, unemployed and on welfare. Black youths are being arrested for violent crimes at a rate five times that for white youths.
Gee…not much has changed in 22 years. Guess what his solution was?
Society is not meeting the needs of these children. Currently less than 5 percent of the federal budget goes to programs to benefit children. This is in sharp contrast to those federal programs for those 65 and older which receive five times as much. The U.S. is the only Western society without some form of universal health care. We must be willing to sacrifice to solve these problems…
Oh..those nasty old people.
Yes, Dr. Eitzen’ answer is the same as we hear today: Translation: White people should fork out money to poor blacks because they can’t take care of themselves. Ever. Not ever. The old need to die for the young.
Government should provide everything. They just keep singing the same old song.
The horrible statistics have only tripled for the blacks. All the democrat programs have come into fruition, have failed miserably, and it will bankrupt us all. You can print money to help the poor welfare mothers only for so long.
Putting the blacks in homes they couldn’t afford, and gathering them in city housing projects was a disaster. Social engineering people never works. And we are seeing politicians doing it on steroids.
Only freedom and a free market will help the black people. They had it better in the 1940’s.
Martin Luther King would not be happy today with the black gang mobs destroying malls.
One thing has changed: There are more black millionaires and rich black politicians than there was when Martin Luther King was alive. Change did come…but…it did not make any difference for the long forgotten poor of the black race. They have been socially engineering to do nothing else but collect welfare and game the system.
Only they can see where that takes them.
The good news is…many of them are… waking up.
Walgreens: Obama’s New Death Camps?
Oh…hell no. 
Walgreen Co. has expanded the reach of its drugstore clinics beyond treating ankle sprains and sinus infections to handling chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure.
The company, based in Deerfield, IL., said Thursday that most of its 370 in-store Take Care Clinics now will diagnosis, treat and monitor patients with some chronic conditions that are typically handled by doctors.
Okay. I’m here to tell you that this is NOT a good idea. I ought to know. Last year, I had the most horrendous cough and there were times that I thought my esophagus would spit out my stomach and my intestines would be lying on the bed in front of me. No cough syrup worked. My doctor lives over an hour away, and so I decided to drag my sick pathetic self out of bed and down to my local Walgreens where I was told they treated colds.
When the 19-year-old black nurse took me in, she asked me what was wrong.
“I’m dying. I have been sick over a month. This isn’t the flu…I would have been over this by now.”
After she asked me about two-hundred meaningless questions that she felt so wonderfully efficient to type into her computer, questions like “Where do you live and how long have you lived there?” She finally got down to a diagnosis.
“You have a virus”
“Well for god’s sake give me something for it. Antibiotics. I can’t kick this it’s going to kill me.”
“No, it’s not bacterial (How did SHE know?) You can buy some over the counter cough medicine.”
I thought to myself. Is this because I’m white? Or old? Or is she just stupid?
Lesson: if you are dying, go to your doctor. I went the next week, he gave me antibiotics, and I got better.
Walgreens…will be the new death camps of Obama. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I am a nobody. If the different classes of America were color-coded, I would be in the yucky brown, one rung up from the bottom. I grew up in Naples, Florida and live near the Mississippi River now with my husband and two dogs. I am part of the slowly disappearing middle-class.
