The Baseball Game of the Decade…
Nobody Flashes
Nobody Knows
That I used to be a big Cardinal baseball fan. I was so bad and so hooked on baseball, that I had to look myself in the reality mirror one day and say, “Knock it off! ” —I went cold turkey. As some of you know, I did go to my first ballgame earlier this year with my friend Pattie, and the game was..boring. (the game was, not my time with my friend) But tonight…I decided to watch the whole game of the World Series, because after all…St.Louis is where I live, and if there was one game to watch..this was it.
It had everything—-errors, fumbles, home runs…and heart-stopping moments of anticipation.
The Cardinals started off with 3 errors, dropping the balls, and then the Rangers made some really stupid mistakes. Both coaches ran out of pitchers. The game was tied in the 4th, and then the Rangers had two home runs right away, putting them on top 7-4, then 7-5.
The Cardinals came back in the last strike of the game…to tie it in the 9th, and again in the 10th, and the game ended with a home-town boy hitting the home run in the bottom of the 11th, to center field.. to win.
Yes, the game was won, not by the big star, Pujols, but by the rest of the team. It was baseball at it’s very best. If you saw it, then you know.
It was one of the best World Series games ever played. The team that you thought would lose, somehow managed to come up with everything and anything to stay in the game. The American dream, can still be found, in baseball.
Tomorrow 7th World Series Game should be no less exciting.
You know who I’ll be rooting for?
The Squirrel.

I am a nobody. If the different classes of America were color-coded, I would be in the yucky brown, one rung up from the bottom. I grew up in Naples, Florida and live near the Mississippi River now with my husband and two dogs. I am part of the slowly disappearing middle-class. I was a musician most of my life: drummer/singer/keyboards—but I retired before the plastic surgery flu hit. It’s my Nobody Opinion that Nobody’s Perfect, and Nobody Cares, that Nobody Knows why Nobody Wins, and when that happens, Nobody Wonders, why Nobody Flashes, why Nobody’s Fooled, but then Nobody remembers that Nobody ALWAYS Reports the truth.

Joy, you have just explained HOW to watch sport. You choose your game with care.
Every damned week of the same damned thing is far too much. We can get jaundiced. It becomes a bore.
But the occasional ‘big’ game or competition pays dividends.
Personally, I watch very little of any one sport. I ‘save up’ for the Rugger World Cup. I occasionally watch half an hour of cricket (such a boring game. I only watch it to develop patience) or AFL football (for the sheer athleticism). But I ‘scan’ about for other exciting things like High Diving (Red Bull) off cliffs or Wingsuit flying down mountain crevasses. I even followed the Alps Race this year where individuals hike and Paraglide over an 800km course of mountain peaks from Saltzburg to Monarco. Fascinating and tough. And the Tour de France. The scenery is just amazing.
