Nobody's Opinion

Nobody Gets Email, and Nobody Gets Angry.

Nobody Gets Email

I just watched this and I am furious. Like most Americans I am on a budget. This week I have to buy a car…but tonight I looked into the taxes on a “new” car and I was floored.  It’s no wonder everyone is driving their cars into the ground….we have to pay over $1600 dollars to the IRS…just to get the car we want.

And then I saw this: The IRS and our politicians, know this is happening (illegals getting huge tax returns) and yet, they want to throw grandma and grandpa into the Obamacare cesspool. Now, American taxpayers are supporting children in Mexico. Hopefully somebody like Hannity or Malkin will take this issue up and demand answers.

This Nobody will be very busy tomorrow…because I still haven’t found a car…and time is ticking…so tomorrow the usual “Nobody’s Opinion” column will have to be delayed for another week. I am still in the “ucky brown” color code of the population so I have to shop around..and I plan to be on the road the whole day.

But, …Nobody’s Perfect should be up on Tuesday.

(Thanks to Tom Beebe)  And yes, I’m STILL …angry.

  1. Powerful points Dancermommd, but the personal information is already in the worst possible hands – the Government’s – and it is the Government that leads in abuse. Nevertheless I too remain suspicious of ‘Private’ company involvement in anything but Investigation, as I said. The IRS could do the collecting – or in this instance the refusal to pay rebates when the claim is clearly (or proven to be) fraudulent.

Many local, State and Federal government bodies already ‘outsource’ investigations to private operators. In Oz for instance, fraudulent claims for ‘benefits’ and pensions are generally exposed by private investigators who are tasked by ‘Centrelink’ , our relevant Government Department. And in most countries private Insurance claims are routinely investigated by ‘corporate’ personnel who necessarily need to possess or gain possession of personal information. No one but the fraudsters object to that..

I might point out as an aside that the last Census carried out in the UK saw the task ‘outsourced’ to Lockheed Martin. I think it is extraordinarily stupid to allow a foreign private, military constructor company to collect and have access to the personal information on every single person in the UK, which the Laws of Britain oblige them (the people) to divulge on pain of jailing and financial punishment. That data includes income and dependants etc and far more besides.

  2. Paying a private company on commission from what they recover leads them to abuse the people they are trying to collect from. And it also puts private information in the hands of people who may or may not be careful with it. The best answer is to do away with the IRS with a fair tax on consumption where everyone has to pay based on what they buy versus the way it is now. This would close all the loopholes. Nobody likes the IRS for many reasons and tax day is stressful. I am all for thinking outside the box for a change and coming up with something new.

  3. The tax regulations in most western countries are so voluminous that even the Tax people cannot fathom where one contradicts another.

All of those tax returns mentioned very likely went through a tax agent and very likely were ‘chased’ to get them. It isn’t just ‘ambulance chasing’ lawyers who rip off the Treasury and other taxpayers.

But there is no excuse for te IRS to have ignored this emormous problem.

Meanwhile highly productive Americans who live overseas have to pay taxes to America while paying tax to the country they live in.

It seems to me that the IRS could save the taxpayer and itself a lot of money by farming the investigation work out to some suitably enraged private businesses who could be paid from a cut from the savings and recoveries.
