John McCain: Step Down….With Dignity

Nobody Cares

So, John McCain has a brain tumor. I am NOT surprised.

The senator was at the hospital on Friday to remove a blood clot when a pathology exam discovered it was linked to glioblastoma, a malignant brain tumor.

“Further consultations with Senator McCain’s Mayo Clinic care team will indicate when he will return to the United States Senate,” his staff said in a statement.

Glioblastoma can cause personality changes including aggression, loss of social restraints, confusion, forgetfulness and mood swings

I remember many years ago when he had that huge mass on his cheek. And then again on his forehead. All was removed, and typical of the press, not much else was said about it.

After all, they ‘cured’ Jimmy Carter of stage 4 brain cancer…or so we’ve been told.

I happen to know a bit about brain tumors. I remember when I saw McCain’s big growth on his face some years ago, and I thought of my dad. He, at one time had TWO huge cancerous tumors removed from his forehead. One was a little bigger than a golf ball.

It wasn’t long after it was removed that he had a massive stroke. I was thinking that John McCain would someday go the same way as my dad. The cancer traveled into his brain, and when he died, they found two huge cancerous tumors inside his brain.

My father died at 63. But, McCain, you can be sure, has had the best medical care money can buy.

He reminds me more of my best girl friend from high school: She died of a cancerous brain tumor at 47. But, she had that tumor for ten years before it killed her, and it took me the longest time to realize how it was affecting her.

You see, she talked fine, moved fine, walked fine, but there were times that she was just downright rude.

I remember one time we went country line dancing. She said she was going to the bathroom, and then, she just left. You can imagine what a panic that put me in. She had come with me, and had no car.

She did rude things all the time, and I could see her changing, but it was so subtle.

And then I read a book about the brain, which explained it. Even her parents noticed her strange behavior. Unfortunately, the doctors did NOT tell the parents much of anything.

When the frontal lobes are damaged, the person can seem to be quite normal, but they lose their ability to comprehend the moment. It different from Alzheimer’s. Much of their brain still works. They remember everybody, and places, and all that, but they become almost nasty at times, and they forget all manners of any sort. They have trouble recalling the events of the moment.

They can act perfectly normal, but…they’re not.

Clearly, John McCain truly is unfit to serve as a Senator. I can only imagine what the Congress has seen behind closed doors.

So, I find it absurd that he cannot be retired from his duties, or at most, he should retire.

When Ronald Reagan and Charles Hesston knew they could no longer serve in any capacity for anything, they told the world.

John McCain has brain damage.

But then again, by their own behavior, so does Maxine Waters, and Hillary Clinton. And I say that with all seriousness. They both have symptoms of brain damage. When you have lived as close as I did with it for so many years, you just know it.

And to show you how powerful our politicians are: Not many doctors will publicly say a word.

If he comes back to the Senate, and they say he is fine: He’s not.

He’s not ever going to be ‘fine’ again.

While my heart goes out to his family, it also goes out to the nation.

He’s done enough damage lately…to the country. To the President.

He’s been trying to start a war with Russia.

We have enough problems without John McCain starting WWIII.

So, I pray, God takes John McCain out of the Senate.

Let him live out the rest of his days…with his family. Let us remember him as the POW who served his country. Let us remember THAT John McCain. The one who picked Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Let us remember the soldier…not the nasty politician he has become.

Let’s hope, his family convinces him…to step down with dignity.
