Nobody Flashes: What Did YOU Do for Fun?

Nobody Flashes On a Sunday

I thought this Nature Valley commercial sent a message that was so much more to think about— than an energy bar.

Video games ARE addicting. They have done studies on the effects of the brain. While they do improve some brain functions, too much is not a good thing.

Go by any park, and the baseball lots are empty…all the kids are inside playing video games.

I don’t know about you, but our parents told us to “go outside and play” and we were outside playing, building forts, making up games, exploring the woods..until the last rays of the sun. The LAST thing we wanted to do was to go inside…and be with boring mom and dad.

Back then, it was safer. Back then, kids learn independence. Solitude. The wonder of God, the universe, bugs, animals…the wonder of the world.

Still…listen to these kids. Sad.

These are the kids who will BEG for someone to wire their brains directly to the web.

And the developers are working on that right now.

Makes you glad you grew up when you did, doesn’t it?
