Nobody Remembers: Pictures from History

Einstein’s desk on the day he died, which is MUCH neater than mine.
Nobody Remembers

First meteor attack. Now we have liposuction.
For a change…instead of my usual Nobody musing on history, I could not pass up these wonderful historical pictures sent to me by my friend Mona…while I can’t post them all, I picked out the ones that I thought really struck me as being pertinent to my nobody mind, and hopefully yours! See the rest of the pictures ….

Thanks to Mona, and enjoy!

And you thought OBAMA was popular.

Abe was a fashion bomb? Who knew? (original for Rushmore)

The last Jew in Vinnitsa, 1941

Put this in color, and you have an ISIS road.

The Armenian kids that didn’t beg for food….according to Turkey.

I’m sorry, this one makes me laugh because the absurdity of it is too insane.

The artists of the prohibition got a little manic, don’t you think?

Another Nazi Rally.

WHY Stockholm did not take over the Tech industry.

If I had a face like Mussolini’s ( headquarters ) I don’t think I’d put it on a building.

Mark Twain and Tesla? Wow.

Proof that men are smarter than women.

No historical significance whatsoever, but adorable.

A couple months ago I sent off 25 rolls of 8mm movie film to be converted to DVD. They just came back today, and boy, what a trip! They were all taken in the forties and fifties by my grandmother’s cousin, and I was even in a couple of them as a child of four or five! There was a lot of film of the 1952 Rose Parade, featuring Roy and Dale Rogers. There was some great footage of Waikiki beach with zero hotels! Both my great-grandmothers were in there, along with numerous people that I don’t recognize and are long gone. Amazingly, down in the basement I still have the wind-up 8mm camera that captured all those moments, and also an 8mm projector. Why the h*ll I am keeping that stuff, I don’t know. You can’t by the film any more, and nobody develops Kodachrome, anyway even if I could. I just hate to let it go, I suppose.

Wow…that’s a real treasure! Roy and Dale Rogers…was Trigger alive? And the beach at Waikiki? Wow. There are people that would LOVE to see that snopercod, including this Nobody. I still have 8mm movies of Hurricane Donna in Naples, Florida…200 mph winds. We were all out in the eye walking around among the downed trees… I’m with you. How can you ever give any of that stuff up?
And I have my old 8mm camera and projector AND screen…LOL..I have not transferred the tapes though. I’d better get to it.

If I can figure out how to convert DVD to .mp4, I’ll post some links on Dropbox for you. I used Scan Cafe, which from time to time has 40% off sales on movie film.

Speaking of Nazi’s, I have a woman who lives nearby who was 16 and lived in Dresden when it was bombed. And after all she went through…she STILL thinks Hitler was…
a great man. She married an American soldier, and lived here the rest of her life. Makes you wonder.

When I visited Germany in the early 80’s nearly every place I visited had a picture of Mein Fuehrer tucked away somewhere and apparently it was illegal to have one?
