 Obama has been screaming about how much of a mess George Bush left him: But…the truth is, it was Barney Frank that caused the Fannie and Freddie Housing Bubble which collapsed the banking system in the Western Hemisphere. Barney Frank was not prosecuted. Why the Republicans are not talking about this is beyond me. The Democrats took control of the bank. They put all our money into Barney Franks hands, and he was the one who worked the downfall of our economy. 
 All the bloggers should be talking about this: Did Barney purposely rig the housing bubble to fail?

 Why Bush was so bad at the end of his term…

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22, 2009. It was actually January 3, 2007, the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate — at the very start of the 110th Congress.
The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s fault”, think about this: January 3, 2007, was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush’s economic policies SET A RECORD OF 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS OF JOB GROWTH
Remember the day…
January 3, 2007, was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee, and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
Unemployment… to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping $5-6 trillion of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!
Bush asked Congress 17 times to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA
And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democratic Congress!
So when someone tries to blame Bush.

Budgets do not come from the White House — they come from Congress. And the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 &2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.
And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.
If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.
If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is “I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th. ”

I am a nobody. If the different classes of America were color-coded, I would be in the yucky brown, one rung up from the bottom. I grew up in Naples, Florida and live near the Mississippi River now with my husband and two dogs. I am part of the slowly disappearing middle-class. I was a musician most of my life: drummer/singer/keyboards—but I retired before the plastic surgery flu hit. I have no degrees, which could be a good thing…depending on how you view our educational system. I do have three patents…but that really doesn’t make me a somebody. One can deduce responsibility from accumulated facts about who did what and when, and this is of course useful in any ‘indictment’. But the measures used and focused upon tend to limit the impacts. In this instance you are looking at ‘numbers’, fiscal budgets, economic data and who has majorities.
There are more important measures that hardly anyone uses that are far more telling.
When you look at a child, an adult, a rational human being and a mentally defecient, you use quite different measures to distinguish one from another. Human measures. We use dimensions that have nothing to do with wealth or aggregate numbers of this or that.
I will hazard that America and its polity need to audit human measures such as corruption, irrationality, group-think, integrity, honesty and authenticity. Truth and clarity have been totally lost under ‘spin’ and obfuscation. ‘Good’ has been redefined out of existence and into special interest pockets. It needs to consider and measure rises and falls, declines and investments in such dimensions. They are the real measure of a ‘people’.
The measures of a Nation, seemingly ignored, are the rise and decline in public accountability, secretive organisations, funding crime and embezzelment of public funds FROM public funds. One needs to measure the ‘object’ of Faith of a nation.
Just as an example – and I know this will be contraversial – just look at the public adulation of the military. America has many fine young men (and a few fine young women) in its military, alongside the slightly elevated number of psychopaths one finds in any ‘violence’ orientated grouping. It also has many careerists and non-thinking robotic order-followers. It has the sick, lame and lazy too. As can be expected. The ‘Spirit’ of the Forces tried very hard to impact on these young minds in order to maintain and enhance Integrity, but it is a constant battle.
yet Americans en masse adore their military and look away when it does something gross or wicked. It was shocked at Mai Lai: it rejoices in levelling Afghan villages and launching assaults in the dead of night into allied countries. It revels in Drones launching rockets to blow up SUVs with odd-bods in them in foreign deserts inside countries that have nothing to do with America. Not that the American Military Forces have lead the way since the CIA and Joint Special Ops have taken over the massive expansion – in secret. No budgets to scrutinise, no approvals from Congress to bother with,
No-one seems to be asking the serious questions about cowardice, betrayal, inteference in the Soverienty of other countries, murder of individuals under the guise of ‘assassination’, as though that guise was a sound excuse.
Even the Military Leadership remains silent while its Integrity is dragged in mud, besmirched with the excuses of the psychopaths who ‘do’ because they can.
I despair at America, a country, a Nation, an ‘Idea’ that was the child of the Enlightenment. It is slipping rapidly down a slippery slope. Its ‘good intentions’ are leading it straight to Hell.
The current Political leadership and the faces in the shadows behind Obama’s throne, have a lot to answer for. Pharaoh Obama, Emperor and Sun-God is a ‘Pretender’ to power and an apt expression of America. But his past half a dozen or so predecessors were the ones who happily pushed themselves and America down that slope. I don’t hear any of the up-and-comers even looking at the problem.

Great stuff amfortas. You might think that all the red neck Americans, who go and buy guns, are into our military, but a great proportion of the population went through the Vietnam war which we hated, and part of the reason Obama was put in Office was because a majority of Americans wanted that war stopped…which he promised to do, but of course hasn’t. Our new “service” economy “services” the corporations who want into those countries for the vast markets…and thereby both parites go along with the plan in order to stay in power. For it’s the money which runs all elections. The corporations, like GE, need the military to “stabilize” the nations in order to get in. We fund them, we fund the infrastructure, and someday they hope, the people will go to McDonald’s…Costco in Kabul..etc. All bets go to the theory, which is no longer a conspiracy, of a “global government” unelected by any people. Will Mitt be any different? If he does one thing: halt the mass invasion of Muslims and immigrants that would be enough reason to vote for him. It’s always the lesser of the two evils isn’t it? What is especially sickening to me is now, we are being bombarded with “wounded warriors” and how they come home maimed, and YET..look at what hero’s they are! No leg? He can STILL run! Right now on Fox we are seeing daily some story about some poor sap who gave his limbs up for the “cause” …of Iraq? We have to glorify the wounded…so as we can keep the “volunteers” coming. The military complex is coming to America. Drones, facial recognition camera’s…NO one is suing, no Congressman but a few complaining…we are becoming a real fascist/communistic state with an American Happy Face. They just sugar coat it all. It’s disgusting. The Western leaders (And that includes the EU) are all insane with power. Insane.
