Nobody's Opinion

Nobody’s Email: The Best of Times, Part Two

Nobody Gets Email

I just got this from my liberal friend, JR, who grew up in the fifties, and he just loves this video.

If you like classic CARS, and great old songs, you will enjoy this. I grew up with the Beatles…but I have had to sing every single one of those songs at one time or other when working on a job.

And believe it or not, Roy Orbison is hard to sing…even for a girl.

Be sure to catch the car whose trunk holds the top. (Any of you guys know who made that car?)

Enjoy!

(Thanks to JR)

  1. I didn’t watch the video to see the front
of the car so I’ll say it’s a 1957-59 Ford
    Skyliner.
I don’t like that era of Fords very much.
But if given a choice between a 2015
Prius across the street and a junky 1959
Ford two states away, I’ll be hitching up
    my car trailer. 🙂

    • But what if it wasn’t a Prius? What if it was NEW Ford VS an old Ford?

  2. Wow! What a great trip down memory lane; That video really made me smile. I remember watching American Bandstand when I was a kid, the sock-hops at school, and was actually driving a ’58 Dodge when I turned 16. At night, I’d listen to all those songs on the one-transistor radio I built and kept under my pillow. Yeah, I was a geek…

I think the greatest thing about the fifties was the sense of anticipation. American companies were doing exciting things and each of us kids could become a part of that if we just studied hard. NASA came to our school in ’57 and gave us their pitch. I was hooked, but it took 30 more years before I got to launch space shuttles.

BTW, be sure to thank your liberal friend for snuffing out the dreams of several generations of Americans.

    • I remember sock hops, and my grandmother’s pink Cadillac. And I STILL listen to the radio under my pillow…it’s a little transistor.

You launched space shuttles! Wow. 🙂 These last few days must have really…be hard. (Two crashes in one month.)
And yes snopercod, I have TRIED to knock sense into his thick skull, but he is just that dense.

So far…he just looks at me bugged eyed.
