When It Rains: Don’t Call Us

Nobody Cares

What’s that saying? When it rains it pours?

Last March, it DID pour here in Missouri…it didn’t stop raining for 7 days straight. Whole towns were flooded out, and this was before Texas got hit with Hurricane Harvey. Still, it’s been flooding here since the great Mississippi was formed and NOBODY was here but the beavers.

Who cares about Missouri? Nobody.

Mark Twain remembers traveling on the Mississippi in the flood of 1844, and how the cows would NOT move away from the water. He thought that was the stupidest thing he ever saw, and just how dumb do you have to be to stand in the flood and drown? Dumb cows.

Pretty stupid.

Feeling like a stupid cow trying to suck up water that got higher each minute, I decided to call my insurance company.

And one thing insurance companies are NOT…are stupid. Most of them do not cover floods, and if you want flood insurance you have to practically give them a kidney to pay for it. I once ask an insurance agent why they didn’t cover floods, and he told me it was because they couldn’t compete with FEMA flood insurance. But you have to live in a flood plain to GET that kind of insurance.

We live on very high ground, so nobody would insure us. Not that we EVER thought we would need it. Our house is so high on a hill, I can actually see Russia from my house!

Just kidding. I CAN see Illinois. Close enough.

But back to my flood story: By day three of the great Missouri Noah rain of 2017, I noticed that all the rugs in the basement were starting to look like my washing machine before the spin cycle. Day four, I spent 6 hours with one of those water vacuums, but, by day SIX, I was sloshing through ankle deep mush. The carpet was completely ruined. And the walls. Much of the furniture.

Then came the mold.

Then the call to the insurance company who said: Sorry. Too bad. Have a nice day!

That was in MARCH.

They said that they only cover ‘acts of God’ but isn’t a 7-day flood of nonstop rain an ‘act of God?” I don’t remember that ever happening here in my lifetime.

I mean, we were on a HILL, and the water level rose past the hill and over the top of our basement!

Flash forward to August. Our 64’ big screen broke. The one we snuggle up to at night to enjoy mostly old reruns of Supernatural. To replace with the same size would take a gall bladder donation.

I don’t have one to give. So, it sits in our living room, because nobody wants it. My husband had to give up his Gaming TV.

We would take the old one apart, but I’m rather fond of it. I go by it and pat it when I can.

We Americans…we do suffer.

A few days ago, our double oven died. Those babies aren’t cheap.

So, we went to Sears to buy one, and the salesman said the one we wanted…we would have to go to Indiana to get it and bring it back ourselves.

Right.

We ended up buying the oven ONLINE. We didn’t WANT to buy online, but, there you go. I’m beginning to think the real conspiracy is the stores are FORCING their retail stores to close so that they don’t have to pay labor costs.

And here I thought it was the economy, stupid.

Not to complain about things, but last weekend, our big custom patio sliding door…smashed into little pieces. Oh…the “tempered” glass doesn’t fall down, but…it’s only a matter of time…before it falls.

It takes up a whole wall, right next to our bed.

God bless duct tape. We duck taped it together, because, that’s a BIG HOLE! And it’s freezing outside.

Winter is coming. But, everyone says they are backed up, and can’t put in a door until—-

Wait for it: February. The coldest month of the year.

So, what does Joyanna do?

She calls about 10 different contractors, and ask for them to come give me bids, and today, three guys from Sears came out to give us their bid.

They were the nicest guys you’d ever want to meet, and they were here for 3 hours, and the price, which they keep from telling us, just to keep us in suspense …was $11,000.

WTH? Say what!?

But, we could put it on our property taxes. (Gee thanks. Just what I want to do.)

I said, “You do realize you guys are about $6,000 over everybody else?”

Nobody said a word.

And then I asked the questions: “How long have you guys been with Sears?

The first guy said, he’d been with them a month. He was an ex-Navy guy, served on many tours in Afghanistan, and had to come home. But he missed traveling the world, and evidently brought a Vietnam girl home with him…and he loved to eat HER food, because she was tiny and didn’t eat much, and so he got all her leftovers. His favorite story of Afghanistan was when some nice Muslims brought them a boatload of chicken…his fondest memory.

He wore a size 15 shoe.

The second guy had been with Sears for maybe three months. He was from Chicago. And you could tell, he’d wish he was back there.

The third guy was an X-marine. He was there to offer us the option to put it on our property taxes. I actually like him the best. He was smart enough to know we won’t stupid.

We were NOT…cows.

But, here’s the thing. Our boys are coming home from wars and getting lame jobs with places like SEARS, where the chances of them getting someone to pay $11,000 for one door is almost as impossible as Murphy’s law disappearing from the planet forever.

What does that tell you?

Exactly.

Illegals are making the money. Our brave Americans are fighting wars just to come home to trying to sell patio doors that nobody has the money to afford.

What did I learn from all this? When it takes 3 months to get a patio door fixed in the middle of winter in American, and aging soldiers who have fought in too many wars can’t find a decent job in America…you realize just how *$&% up America really is. If anybody is being discriminated against it’s the America soldier.

Nobody Thinks…. we all need wet suits.

A Good Vet Takes Action

Nobody Cares

One of my readers alerted me to this last week: Veterans once again are getting ‘*$&%;’ by the idiots up in Washington, D.C.

The story says that Vets were upset at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery because they removed the Battlefield Cross marker, because…OMG…there was a gun in it.

God forbid we remind ourselves that soldiers USE guns to fight for our country.

If it were up to liberals, we’d fight wars with lawyers, and Harvey Weinstein.

Here’s a few words from the article:

Veterans who make the pilgrimage to the cemetery to pay their respects to their comrades-in-arms say that one of the most powerful tributes that can be paid to service men and women is a battlefield cross, made up of a helmet, a rifle and a pair of boots.

The policy applies to all cemeteries operated by Veterans Affairs.

The battlefield cross can be displayed during a veteran’s burial, but must be removed after the ceremony.

Veterans say the rules drafted by bureaucrats are an affront to those who served their country and have no place on the hallowed grounds of a National Cemetery.

“I have yet to meet the Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, Coast Guard that isn’t upset over this,” said Overton. “They’re trying to change our history, and we’re not going to let them do it.’

Well, I’d like to know just WHO it was that found this ‘offensive’ wouldn’t you?

But…here’s the GOOD news! People all over the country got out the word, and those statues were put BACK.

Thank God, the vets at the cemetery spoke up.

And thanks to ‘g’ man who can claim some of the credit for getting out the word.

Eisenhower TRIED to Warn Us

Nobody Remembers

This is always interesting to look back on:

Whatever you may think about the “deep state’s” goals…I believe this really WAS the Bushes plan: Libya, Iraq…done. And we are still in Afghanistan.

Syria got interrupted by Obama.

And Russia has been added to the list..

And WHY you may ask? Why do we go to war with countries that have NOT attacked us? Is it because of the Sunni’s? Or that Russia wants the oil pipeline in Syria?

The fact that China owns most of the mineral rights in the world..is THAT why Afghanistan is worth occupying forever more…because WE need whatever is in those mountains?

Is it because China has all the materials to MAKE the newest technology, and we don’t? Or do they just want to all get rich off of SELLING those minerals?

And Russia…why Russia? Is it only to get rid of President Trump?

Or is it because Russia stands in the way of Syria? You tell me, because one thing is sure:

Nobody Knows what’s really going on, but a handful of elites.  What we DO know, is that all this BS about Russia fooling around with our elections is absurd.

I guess they’ve lied to us for so long, they just can’t get out of the habit.

Nobody’s Email: The Story You Didn’t Get

Nobody Gets Email:

You have to almost admire the nerve of Hillary Clinton today. She was attacking Trump on wanting to let countries like Japan and South Korea develop nuclear weapons. Insinuating how dangerous that is. But…it was OKAY for Hillary to give Iran the money to upgrade their nuclear programs. Does she think most people don’t even think about that? Uh…clearly she thinks we are all as dumb as Obama says we are. And lazy.

Don’t forget lazy.obama-as-muslm-four

And racist. We’re racist because we’re stressed. Nothing but uplifting news from our ‘President.’

I was talking to a friend today…and frankly, the closer we get to the elections, the scarier it gets. Trump’s great military speech today, outlined just how seriously Obama has decimated our military forces. Did we WANT to know that stuff? Not really. It seems more people are concerned about having to pay $150 dollar for the new Apple IPhone, earphones.

So, the news is: we are basically sitting ducks. If any other country was going to take down the United States THIS would be the moment.

I also wonder how many Americans, like me, don’t trust Obama even leaving the office.  He’s playing golf almost every day, as IF he is just trying to get in as much as he can because he knows that soon, he won’t be able to. As if, he knows very soon the golf courses might be closed.

Yes, Obama is overseas again, trashing his own country. He is just begging for someone to hit us. A psychologist would tell you he is taking out his abandonment issues on us, but that’s another blog.

And so, when I got this email, I must admit, it’s probably worse than we can all imagine. (Getting back to Trump’s military speech.) Not only is our military decimated, Obama’s mass destruction of our military goes beyond the physical, and into the realm of making us an army of wussed out sycophants, ready to attack any Christian, at a moment’s notice.  According to this email: our men would be more likely to consider a Christian as an enemy than an Iranian.

So…here’s the email: I have not checked this out, but, since most young Americans think Karl Marx was one of our finest Vice Presidents, some of us, must assume this could be true, and go ahead…get a bucket.

It’s the ‘rest of the story’ about the Navy men who were captured by the Iranians and held on their knees…accordingly, the ‘rest of the story’ was reported in the Stars and Stripes.

(Thanks to madmemere)

Last week, the Navy released the results of a lengthy investigation it had completed, concerning the conduct of one officer and nine enlisted sailors after they willingly surrendered their two Riverine Patrol Craft to the Iranians and were subsequently detained for 15 hours in the Persian Gulf last January.navy-capture-one

The Navy’s findings should have generated a media frenzy, but instead were quickly buried by the 300 foot rogue waves generated by the storm called the Hillary Clinton Email Scandal.

Here are some highlights from the investigation as reported by the Stars and Stripes:

The findings from the investigation are frightening and should concern all Americans.

The engine on one of the two Navy patrol craft was broken before it ever left port.

The crews had failed their most recent navigation exams. Several of the crew, including both captains, had either recently failed or not taken a required navigation exam and none of the crew had more than two hours of training on the navigation system. Navigation is a sailor’s bread and butter. Not knowing navigation is tantamount to a hockey player not knowing how to skate.

The radios weren’t working. The two craft, Riverine Command Boats 802 and 805, left four hours late for their mission because they could not get their radios to work.navy-capture-two

This speaks volumes about poor non-commissioned officers, aka Chiefs, who obviously weren’t ensuring that the radios had proper maintenance or were replaced. One wonders what the officer in charge, Lieutenant David Nartker was doing instead of checking on his boats’ equipment. None of the 10 sailors on either vessel had ever participated in a mission this long.

When the military spends all of its time on sensitivity training and other PC insanity, you lack time to conduct real training for war. And when the chips were down the crews displayed a lack of “war-fighting toughness.”

As US Defense Watch has reported before, the US military is not focused on its mission, creating an organization that is internally feeble and projects weakness abroad.

Boat 805 never bothered to log their route. No one looked at a paper map before departing, though it is required.

The crews had already voiced their concerns: they weren’t ready for this mission. It would be the longest mission they’d conducted, and would require a nighttime refueling – another thing that they’d never done. Obviously, a real world mission in the Persian Gulf is a lot tougher than attending one of the military’s classes on why the Bible is a sexist document or conducting physical training with pregnancy simulators.

Things quickly went from SNAFU to TARFU to FUBAR as they drifted into Iranian waters. At the critical moment when the navigation system identified Iran’s Farsi Island for them, none of the 10 picked up on that information because no one zoomed in on the  island that the system was displaying. They also didn’t look at backup navigational charts on the boats or call in their location to one of their maritime operations centers.

The crews thought they would go around the island. But boat 802’s engine experienced a dangerous oil pressure drop, and cut speed. Boat 805 also dropped speed and came alongside. Boat 802’s engine problems could have been fixed with the boat still moving, but the crew decided to stay put and fix the issue there. Despite the fact that they still had a visual on an unknown island and did not know their exact location, the boat captains did not have their gunners on watch to protect the craft while the repairs were under way.navy-capture-three

They thought repairs would take 20 minutes. A few minutes later, they saw two small patrol craft approaching. At 1,000 yards, the captain of boat 802 saw the incoming vessels had weapons. But he still did not tell his crews to take a defensive posture. He would later say he thought the vessels might have been friendly, from Saudi Arabia. Obviously, when you don’t look at charts and fail navigation exams you have no idea if you’re in Baja or Beijing.
By the time the vessels were within 100 yards, the two U.S. boats manned their guns.

Then they saw the blue flag of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. The U.S. crews started yelling, trying to communicate by pointing to their wrench and engine that they were broken down. This wasn’t an incursion. By then, two additional Iranian vessels were headed toward them.

Lieutenant Nartker failed to order the crews to fire at least warning shots. Instead, Nartker did order the boats to speed away. But by then it was too late, the Iranians were able to block their vessel and had their weapons fixed on boat. The crew’s coxswain saw the Iranian’s AK-47s were close enough for him to see they were pointed at his gunner. When the captain wanted another attempt to go, the coxswain said no.
“I tell the [boat 802] captain that we are not moving. [The boat 802 captain] said we just got to go and if they shoot through us then whatever. I am having this dumb conversation with him about how I am not going to drive. I am not going to get the [boat 802] gunner killed,” according to the investigation.

At that point, Nartker started negotiating with the Iranians.

“So at that point in time if I had decided to start a firefight, I know a lot of my guys would be dead. We might have all been dead at that point in time. I didn’t want to start a war with Iran, either … my thought at the end of the day was that no one had to die for a misunderstanding. And that, I guess, was a gamble on my part. I don’t want to say gamble because that is not exactly the right word, but in allowing us to be captured – that was my decision and my decision alone.”

Nartker’s cowardice immediately endangered his whole crew by delivering them into the hands of a nation led by psychopaths and religious zealots. He seemed more concerned about not harming Iranians than he was about doing his duty as a US Navy officer.
The crews raised their hands and kneeled. The boats were boarded. Once on board, the Iranians tore down the U.S. flags and replaced them with their own.

As they were filmed kneeling and bound, the female gunner on the crews activated the distress signal. The Iranians discovered her actions, and confiscated the device.

What the investigation found was that Nartker should have had his crew in a defensive posture while the downed vessel was getting repaired. It did not rule on his decision to surrender the boats to the Iranians, noting the Defense Department’s Code of Conduct does not clearly outline what actions an officer should take in regards to surrender if the situation occurs in non-armed conflict.

The Navy needs a reality check. While we are not in a declared war with Iran, they are the ENEMY, no matter what sick pill John Kerry tries to shove down the nation’s throat. The Code of Conduct clearly states how Nartker should have acted and he violated Articles II and V.
The investigation also found Natker acted honorably by directing the Iranians not to film his crew, but his filmed apology “was clearly inconsistent with the Code of Conduct.”

Nartker was in captivity for 15 hours and he submitted to making an apology. His acquiescence is worrisome. Does anyone in the Navy have any conception of how the Vietnam POW’s resisted North Vietnamese repeated attempts for them to make public apologies? Our POW’s in North Vietnam were routinely tortured for weeks or months until they broke and signed statements or agreed to be filmed.

Nartker’s excuse was that the Iranians threatened not to release him and his men if he didn’t make a formal apology on worldwide TV. So what? Tough it out trooper!  You’re in the Navy, not an employee of Quaker Oats.

Nartker gave in and the Iranians never even laid a hand on him or his men. They didn’t have to. They knew they were dealing with a gutless coward.omg

The report also found that the crew members improperly revealed passwords for laptops and cellphones and even sensitive technical details about their two ships, including their top speed, capabilities and missions, the report said. “It is clear that some, if not all, crew members provided at least some information to interrogators beyond name, rank, service number and date of birth,” the report said.

The Navy might want to replace some of their unconscious bias and white privilege training back to Code of Conduct classes. In the aftermath, the Navy has recommended administrative actions against the task force commander and commodore, actions have already been carried out and both officers have been relieved of command. It has recommended its investigation be sent to each of the commands overseeing the executive officer directly responsible for the two boats, the captain of boat 805, and the coxswain of boat 805 who challenged the captain of boat 802’s decision to try to flee the Iranian vessels.

The investigation found that Nartker failed in many of the expectations that the Navy had of him. But the Navy also reported the LT’s relative inexperience, low rank at the time and the extreme situation should be put in the context of the lack of oversight or mentorship his commanders had afforded him.

Wait a minute. David Nartker is a Lieutenant, not some green ensign with one week of active service under his belt. Nartker has been on active duty for several years. It’s his job to make tough decisions and to show courage. It’s also his job to look out for his crew. He failed at every task given to him.

Younger men than Nartker, with much less experience and without the prized Annapolis training have performed heroically throughout the history of the Navy. The Navy needs to stop making excuses for the poor conduct of its officers.

Lastly, the report found that the female gunner should “receive proper recognition for her extraordinary courage in activating the emergency beacon while kneeling, bound and guarded at Iranian gunpoint, at risk to her own safety.”

Apparently, the female gunner in Nartker’s crew was the only one who seemed to understand their duty and who exhibited courage.

The fallout from the incident has already resulted in the removal of the commodore and executive officer responsible for the vessels, Capt. Kyle Moses and Cmdr. Eric Rasch. A third officer who was in charge of the detachment in Kuwait, who was not named, was also relieved of command, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson announced Thursday in a news briefing on the investigation findings.
The incident in the Persian Gulf last January should be a wake-up call for the US Navy. Not only were the sailors and officers in question lacking in training, they also had a desultory mentality toward maintenance of their equipment. When called upon to act courageously, they conducted themselves poorly and disgraced their service and their country while in captivity.

The US Navy has severe problems. This incident may have been isolated, but it speaks volumes about the declining readiness and warrior spirit in our military.

Should we be surprised? This is the type of military you get when the White House and the Pentagon are more focused on social engineering than training for war.

Just a note: I read this to an x Navy Seal and asked his opinion, and he said that one or two things…he could see…but all of those? No. He said this..

“Sounds like the Warren Report.”

The part that bothers THIS nobody is the fact that they gave them passwords to everything.

Somebody in that unit could have been working for Obama. That’s how much I don’t trust the man.

Your Affirmative Action General At Work—Lloyd Austin III

Nobody Wonders

In case you missed it, General Lloyd Austin III was grilled by the Senate today, and no one gave him more trouble than John McCain, and believe it or not, Senator Clair McCaskill, who is a democrat from Missouri and usually only acts conservative near election time. What was amazing, is that it was reported that the General wants $300 million to further train local Muslim guys…you know, the ones who end up running to Germany?

According to this quesioning, he has 5 guys training at…the cost of $9 million a guy.

Lloyd James Austin III (born 8 August 1953) is a United States Army general. He is the 12th and current commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM). Austin is the first African American to ever head the organization.[2] Prior to current assignment, General Austin served as the 33rd Vice Chief of Staff of the United States Army from January 31, 2012 to March 8, 2013. His previous assignment was as the last Commanding General of United States Forces – Iraq, Operation New Dawn, which lasted until December 15, 2011. On December 6, 2012, the Pentagon announced that President Obama had nominated General Austin to lead the U.S. Central Command.[3] Austin was confirmed by the U. S. Senate on March 5, 2013, and assumed command on March 22, 2013. Of his service in Iraq, Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta said:

*************************

“During his final deployment to Iraq, Gen. Austin led our military efforts at a particularly important time, overseeing the draw-down of U.S. forces and equipment while simultaneously helping to ensure that hard-fought security gains were preserved and that Iraqis could secure and govern themselves.”

Wow…THAT worked out well didn’t it?

So, General Petraeus was sent up on some charge that he was having an affair (Always the best one to get anybody on) so that this guy could be placed into his spot and Obama could make SURE that the middle East would implode? At least from this side of the isle, it sure looks like it.

Nobody Wonders at the composure of this guy, who basically defended Obama’s policy of “due nothing, and make sure the other side gets LOTS of weapons.” while pathetically sounding like a typical democrat, by that I mean, saying “We are looking into that. ” BS.

The look on General Austin’s Face went from sincere to sheer ISIS hatred when being questioned about the sheer joke of what is happening. On Wikipedia, it seems he has spent his whole life in school, and yet he has three purple hearts.

And THIS is the guy who is in charge?Oh boy.

Obama has been making his military piece by piece….to make sure, they will ALL obey his orders.

And most people don’t know that Obama has fired over 197 top military commanders in five years.

What’s he up to?

Memorial Day: 2015–God Bless and Keep Our Soldiers

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
