A Good Vet Takes Action
Nobody Cares
One of my readers alerted me to this last week: Veterans once again are getting ‘*$&%;’ by the idiots up in Washington, D.C.
The story says that Vets were upset at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery because they removed the Battlefield Cross marker, because…OMG…there was a gun in it.
God forbid we remind ourselves that soldiers USE guns to fight for our country.
If it were up to liberals, we’d fight wars with lawyers, and Harvey Weinstein.
Here’s a few words from the article:
Veterans who make the pilgrimage to the cemetery to pay their respects to their comrades-in-arms say that one of the most powerful tributes that can be paid to service men and women is a battlefield cross, made up of a helmet, a rifle and a pair of boots.
The policy applies to all cemeteries operated by Veterans Affairs.
The battlefield cross can be displayed during a veteran’s burial, but must be removed after the ceremony.
Veterans say the rules drafted by bureaucrats are an affront to those who served their country and have no place on the hallowed grounds of a National Cemetery.
“I have yet to meet the Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, Coast Guard that isn’t upset over this,” said Overton. “They’re trying to change our history, and we’re not going to let them do it.’
Well, I’d like to know just WHO it was that found this ‘offensive’ wouldn’t you?
But…here’s the GOOD news! People all over the country got out the word, and those statues were put BACK.
Thank God, the vets at the cemetery spoke up.
And thanks to ‘g’ man who can claim some of the credit for getting out the word.
Veterans, America Thanks YOU! (Forget that guy in his Pajama’s)
Nobody Reports
We have the best military in the world, not just because of our equipment, but because of the hearts and minds of the people who serve and give their lives for us.
If you do not thank a VET today, then SHAME on you.
Even if you DO happen to be an American President who made SURE he wasn’t here on Veterans Day to honor them all in the usual historical Presidential ceremony.
He evidently–had a real hot date with another communist.
Nobody’s Fool: Wal-Mart Veteran
Nobody’s Fool
How about a good news story? After all, cops can’t be everywhere. This Wal-Mart employee did not mess around.
God bless the 2nd amendment,
God bless our vets.
Who are…NOBODY’s FoolS
In America: Criminals Get Star Treatment, Vets Get Screwed
Nobody Reports
In America: Gang members, murderers, rapists, drug dealers–are given everything they need to live a healthy and leisurely life, in our prisons. They get the BEST medical care: dental, medical, even sex changes if they so choose. (And sex visits from their spouses)
But our veterans, who have given their lives to serve our country, are dying in droves. They are denied medical care, suffer from homelessness, poverty, and hopelessness.
BUT! Finally! Our Congress is going to right the wrongs committed by the Veterans Administration before they leave to go on their vacations::
THIS JUST IN!
A House-Senate agreement on how to reform the broken Department of Veterans Affairs will let the VA hand out up to $360 million in bonuses to its employees each year, even though the House voted just weeks ago to strip all VA bonuses through 2016.
The compromise bill announced Monday by the chairmen of the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees says VA bonuses will be capped at $360 million annually for the next ten years. But that cap is just 10 percent below the $400 million in bonuses the VA has distributed in recent fiscal years, and will allow up to $3.6 billion in bonuses to be awarded over the next decade.
They are making sure the bloated government workers who ‘kill’ veterans by denying them medical attention are getting…bonuses?
So, in America, criminals are treated better than honest patriotic citizens who give their lives and money to support low life scums and criminals.
So…who’s in charge?
Nobody Remembers The Day A President Declared War on Veterans
Nobody’s Opinion
Instead of copying and pasting some “Happy Veterans Day!” picture, I thought I’d share a little history to ponder…about what some vets did in 1932:
Our government has made a habit of not always honoring their promises…as we have all been witnessing with Obama’s lies and promises about how, “You can keep your doctor, period.” But, imagine how the good American men felt during the last great depression, when the government refused to pay them what THEY had promised. Back then, there was no such thing as food stamps. But in 1932, millions of veterans of WWI, traveled to Washington D.C. to collect the ‘bonus’ that was promised to them eight years before. The men were tired of waiting, and the talk in Congress was to defer the payments until 1945. In 1932, 32,000 businesses failed, and unemployment was up to almost 25 percent. Two million people wandered the country setting up shacks called “Hooversville” because they blamed Hoover for their plight.
(This was before credit cards.)
Just like George W. Bush, when the market crashed, Hoover couldn’t stand by and do nothing, so Congress passed a massive income tax increase–from 24 percent to 60 percent. And they kept spending, just like today. (Obama is the biggest spender in world history.)
Bad idea.
So the vets, who couldn’t find work anyway, took their families to Washington D.C, and built a small “Hooverville” around Pennsylvania Avenue near the Capital. They
build an even bigger site on the outer reaches of the city and they called it Anacostia Flats. Over 25,000 people gathered there to take their claims that the government owed them. This protest came from all 48 states and the men were given food and free railroad passes from people in every state to help them get there.
Basically, they were all homeless, and starving.
Nevertheless–the people were peaceful…in fact, they had a commander in charge who rules were, “No panhandling, no liquor, no radical talk.” They even set up a school, a newspaper, and a library..The people in D.C., rich and poor, took them food.
Then on June 15, the House of Representatives passed the bonus bill 211 to 176. The next day, thousands of veterans surrounded the Capital in anticipation —- but the Senate defeated the bill. For a moment, it looked like the veterans were going to attack the Capital.
But…they didn’t. Summer ran on, many went home, but over 20,000 were still there.
The politicians were getting scared.
So, on July 28, Hoover ordered the police out. There were a few fights. One veteran lay dead, three policemen were injured. And then, General MacArthur, who had been training his troops for this moment, ordered his men to clear downtown of veterans. For the first time in American history, tanks were brought out into the streets, and 300 helmeted infantrymen, with loaded rifles and fixed bayonets, and gas masks, led by George Patton, cleared the streets.
From there they went out the camps and set fire to the camps.
Eisenhower (who was at the side of MacArthur) said MacArthur went too far.(Not the last time he disobeyed an order.)
MacArthur defended his actions:
Had he let it go on another week—-” I believe the institutions of our Government would have been severely threatened.”
FDR opposed giving the men the money, but after the event, he told an adviser that “this will elect me.”
Attacking the American Vets assured FDR election.
So, did the vets ever get their money? Yes. In June 1936, Harry Truman gave it to them. Almost $2 billion was handed out to 3 million WWI veterans.
Then in 1942, Congress passed the G.I Bill of Rights.. which, by giving vets education and loans to buy homes, built the middle class, whose consumption would power the postwar economy.
And now, Obama has been purchasing billions of hollow point bullets. .
Apparently, the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security has ordered 750 million handgun, rifle, and shotgun rounds (in addition to the 450 million purchased earlier this year.(Add to this tanks and drones.)
Our police departments all over the country are being militarized.
Either they are expecting a full-fledged invasion, or more likely, a collapsed of the economy. Someday, the “promises” of pension rewards, welfare, and food stamps will run out.
And if you think that your government will NOT fire on its citizens,
Think again.
They did it once before.
And if that isn’t a reason to thank a vet today, I don’t know what is. Someday you might have to depend on that vet for your very survival, to protect you from Obama’s generals…who are at this very moment, training their troops.
Nobody Gets Email: American Flag—Lowe’s Doormat
Here’s an email I just opened. While the American Flag has been used on about as many products as you can think of, and nobody seems to care, I have to agree with this one. An American Flag doormat…not such a good idea. Even though (see picture below) it’s not just the flag, and is done like some cherry sort of folk art, I think an American Flag doormat is pretty insulting.
The truth is, whoever thought of this and manufactured it, probably thought they were being patriotic, instead of just plain stupid.
I have leather jacket with the American Flag on the back, and even though it’s not COOL to wear it because you are looked at as being UNCOOL, I still do. But, there are exceptions to every rule. Put the American Flag on your coffee mug if you like, display it proudly on your dog’s bandana, but don’t STEP on it.
While Nobody is with the veterans on this matter, Nobody Wonders, what do the veterans think when flags are displayed on underwear? Did they fight for the right of the genderness?
Anyone?
(Thanks to Pattie.)
*************
To all concerned. Lowe’s is now selling American Flag doormats. As Memorial day and 4the of July is approaching, many stores are trying to increase their profits. Needless to say, the selling of American Flag doormats has many Veterans upset. Veteran feel that they fought for the American Flag, many losing their lives, and many permanently injured for the freedoms that the American Flag represents, yet Lowe’s is now selling the American Flag as a doormat, “something to be walked on, and something to wipe your feet on”, as one veteran put it. “Are they slapping our faces or what?” asked another veteran.
The V.F. W., the America Legion, and several other organizations were immediately contacted. A veteran with 33 years in the U.S. Navy, had went to Lowe’s to buy $300.00 worth of lumber to build a fence, but when he saw the American Flag doormat, he flipped out, made Lowe’s take back the lumber and refund his money. Several others walked out of the store.
At the Lowe’s in N. Charleston, SC, the manager took all the doormats off of display because of complaints and called Lowe’s headquarters to report the consumer’s and veteran’s complaints. Those who grew up respecting the American Flag, and those who fought to defend it, would never let the American Flag touch the ground, much less us it as a doormat, to walk on or wipe your feet on it!
Most likely these doormats are made in China, but they are distributed by Mohawk Home, 3032 Sugar Valley Rd.,NW, Sugar Valley, Georgia, 30746
Please pass this on to as many people as you can. Some of us still respect and love America and our Flag, and what it represents.
