Why DO Vets Want to Go BACK to War…?
Nobody’s Opinion
It’s a question that I always wondered about: Why do men, go back again and again to war? I’ve heard countless stories on Vets being injured, and wanting to go back to their unit.
Sounds crazy.
Sebastian’s opinion, is that the men form bonds, that NO one can match when they come home. By his reasoning, going shopping for baby diapers, is no match for the adrenaline rush while under fire, with a small unit of men, who form the most perfect emotional union ever experienced on the planet.
He makes it sound like the sweetest drug on earth.
And certainly, this war, more than any other war, is being fought by a very small percent of men, who keep going back:
Since the U.S. went to war in Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003, about 2.5 million members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and related Reserve and National Guard units have been deployed in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, according to Department of Defense data. Of those, more than a third were deployed more than once.
In fact, as of last year nearly 37,000 Americans had been deployed more than five times, among them 10,000 members of guard or Reserve units. Records also show that 400,000 service members have done three or more deployments. Beyond that, far more soldiers in this all-volunteer military have been back for two, three, four or five tours, and the long-term impact on hearing and from traumatic brain injuries caused by improvised bombs will be felt for years.
Nobody Thinks, there is something missing here.
Not only are they coming back and being miserable, they are committing suicide at alarming rates. More than 69 percent of veteran suicides were among individuals aged 50 years or older, the VA reported.
Can you say, “When’s my appointment?”
Feb 1 (Reuters) – The most extensive study yet by the U.S. government on suicide among military veterans shows more veterans are killing themselves than previously thought, with 22 deaths a day – or one every 65 minutes, on average
Nobody Thinks there is a lot more to this: After all, the Vets from WWII didn’t come back and commit suicide or even WANT to go back to the killing fields. What is different about today?
FIRST: While we were attacked on 9/11, Bush’s little Foghorn speech on ground zero was NOTHING compared to the rallying cry of FDR. It was okay to be patriotic then. Not anymore. We had to get the U.N. permission….that took a long time.
Not to say that Bush wasn’t loved by the troops, but the media was full of “How we deserved to be attacked on 9/11.”
Everyone knows, but nobody says, these volunteers were mostly from conservative families.: Patriots answering the call.
SECOND: Unlike WWII where the men came home after a great victory, the country was bursting with confidence and opportunity, and the men came home, married their sweethearts, and along came the baby boomers.
They had…one thing that our boys don’t have—-Hope, and Victory.
Where’s our victory in Iraq or Afghanistan? Obama has let it all go. And Bush’s silence is also, to me, unforgivable.
If George W. was a patriot, he would be going on TV shows like Bill Clinton and be fighting mad.
(But, then, there’s Jeb’s push for the White House, isn’t there?)
IN WWII, The enemy was clear. There was no politically correctness going on in WWII.
The Military is now filled with officers who are liberal hacks.
I can see a bit more of Sebastian’s points. Our men come back, after being able to be “men” with other ‘men’ and they come back to this liberally infested politically correct— “Don’t’ offend gays, women, Muslims, or immigrants” —–And by the way, here’s your job at McDonalds.
And then…there’s the wonderful VA. They are not getting care, so they just kill themselves.
Sebastian ends with how in HIS mind, the men want to go to war, because of the bonding, and the adrenaline. He wants to find a way to stop that.
But maybe the battlefield, is the only place left where men can be themselves, feel their own worth, feel like they are making a difference? They can’t at home.
And that won’t stop until you go back to the way things were before: To an America not run by dictators, and globalists—and where America is a dirty that the Commander-in-Chief has to keep lying about.
Marriage, patriotism, a free market economy, good medical care, …and most importantly—Hope. Obama has sapped most all the hope out of this country, and to most of us, it’s almost too painful to watch.
But, it’s not just us that is suffering from the liberals—Look what is happening in Australia:
So…why do men go BACK to war? Is it because they are full of some testosterone maniacal need to kill? Or is it because, there is simply no other place on the planet that makes sense to them?
Dick Cheney: Presidents Have Complete “War Powers” …HUH?
Nobody’s Opinion
There isn’t much that Dick Cheney can say that doesn’t sound intelligent…same goes for his wife Lynne. I was listening to this couple this morning while putting on mascara, and not thinking much of it…until they came to this one part.
I almost poked my eye out when I heard Dick Cheney declare, that to him the most important thing going on was the “War Powers Act.” The question starts around 8.15…and it floored me.
Absolutely floored me. And by the expression on ,,,,,face, (9.30) it floored him too.
What Dick said, and his wife was quick to agree, was that James Madison had done a great thing, by changing the draft of the Constitution from giving the Congress the right the “make” war to “declare” war, thereby putting the whole job of being able to decide on all war (and make war) into the hands of the executive.
Huh? Oh, how clever. Write a book and say James Madison said it. OR…It depends on what the word “is” is.
Dick goes on to basically say that the power to go to war, remains the sole power of the President The Congress should never be allowed to mess with it. Lynne then goes on to say how Congress messes everything up. Not good to put that power in the hands of Congress.
Remember…CONGRESS is the people. They are supposed to represent us. Take away the Congress check, and you have a dictator.
And when does Congress EVER check the President? When was the last time?
(Read the last time here..)
All anyone who has read the papers of the founders know that the last thing they wanted was a King. Just because they made the President “Commander-in-Chief did not mean that he could start wars all by himself, no….it meant that he would be head commander of all forces. A Commander leads, he does not ‘declare’.
In fact, I thought the position that Barack Obama took when running for office in 2007 was the Constitutional one.
As a presidential candidate in 2007, Obama agreed: “The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”
It’s evident that this out of nowhere “War Powers Act” , I.e., the power for the President to not have to go through Congress to take us to war, is something that Dick Cheney is very concerned about…and to me, it was like a lighting bolt of concern.
Are the elites planning another war and they do not want the Congress to interfere? Is this all about putting ALL power to the executive? Is this Clinton’s ‘third’ way?
One man rule?
Throughout our history, neither presidents nor Congresses have acted under the belief that the Constitution requires a declaration of war before the U.S. can conduct military hostilities abroad.
We have used force abroad more than 100 times but declared war in only five cases: the War of 1812, the Mexican-American and Spanish-American Wars, and World Wars I and II.
So…hey! No politician pays attention to the Constitution anymore
Lynne Cheney brought it to everyone’s attention that the recent Monica Lewinsky Vanity Fair article was all bout the Clinton’s being political savvy and getting that mess out-of-the-way earlier.
She was right.
But…Dick and Lynne Cheney are old political pros too. Releasing a book on James Madison, in which it can be reported that Madison declared that the President should have all-encompassing power and can do whatever he wants…is why we have a President now that is destroying the country.
According to David McCullough, a man who has written more books on Presidents than Lynne, our Constitution’s framework was based on the lst Constitution in the United States for the state of Massachusetts, and that Constitution was written by John Adams. Everyone in the Congress had read John’s essays on the Constitution. and its defense since he sent copies to everyone in Congress..including James Madison.
James Madison refined it, with the help of his friends.
Tonight I saw the sweetest picture of President George W. Bush, running around the White House with his beloved Miss Beasley who just died.
Love the dog…but remember…this is pure political propaganda MEANT to tug at your heart…and get your trust for government. Forget the vets who died. Forget the nation…these leaders are good. They have DOGS! Just like YOU!
Don’t fall for it. And don’t fall for the BS that James Madison wanted the President to have all that power.
“Honesty….is hardly ever heard————- but mostly what I need from you.” Billy Joel.
Nobody Remembers the Notes of Ronald Reagan
Nobody Remembers
I love historical quotes. I have at least six full books full of them…and so did Ronald Reagan evidently. He kept hundreds of notes throughout his life, and he would pull them out at speeches…mostly quotes that he liked from history. He put them on 4×5 cards and used them whenever he needed them. Douglas Brinkley gathered them up in a book called, The Notes, Ronald Reagan. And being a big Reagan fan, it’s right near my desk.
So, go through history with Ronald Reagan and enjoy, as I did, some of his favorite quotes.
(ALL of them remind me of Obama. )
WINSTON CHURCHILL —- Some people regard private enterprise as a predatory tiger to be shot. Others look on it as a cow they can milk. Not enough people see it as a healthy horse pulling a sturdy wagon.
FDR,1935: —The Fed. Govt. must & shall quit this business of relief. Continued dependence upon relief induces a spiritual & moral disintegration fundamentally destructive to Nat. Fibre. To dole out relief in this way is to administer a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the humans spirit.
JFK:— Our true choice is not between tax reduction on the one hand & the avoidance of large Fed. deficits on the other. Our economy stifled by restrictive tax rates will never produce enough revenue to balance the budget. Just as it will never produce enough jobs or enough profits.
CICERO:—- The budget should be balanced, the treasury should be refilled, the public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered & controlled. Assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed least Rome become bankrupt. The mob should be force to work and not depend on govt. for sustenance.
VLADIMIR LENIN: —-The way to take over a country is to debauch the currency. Through a continuous policy of inflation a govt. can quietly & unobservedly confiscate the wealth of its citizens.
THOMAS JEFFERSON —The last hope of human liberty in the world rests on us. Our liberty cannot be guarded but by the freedom of the press.
NIKITA KHRUSHCHEV:— Despite the difference between the stages of communism and socialism no wall of any kind exists between them….communism grows from socialism & its direct continuation.
ALEXANDER HAMILTON:—- It will be of little avail to the people that laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood: if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be tomorrow.
EDMUND BURKE:—- It is a general popular error to imagine the loudest complainers for the pub. to be the most anxious for its welfare.
LEONARD READ:—- Regardless of theoretical pretentions, socialism is nothing but the application of dictatorial power.
WILLIAM PENN: —–If men will not be governed by God (that is to be honest, truthful, diligent, fair & just to all) then they must be governed by tyrants.
CICERO: —-A nation can survive its fools & even the ambitious but it cannot survive treason from within. For the traitor appears no traitor: he speaks in an accent familiar to his victims & wears their face & their garments…he rots the soul of the nation. He works secretly & unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city: he infect the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared.
RONALD REAGAN:—- I’ll bet you—time ain’t far off when a woman won’t know anymore than a man.
RONALD REAGAN:—-I have left orders to be awakened at any time in case of national emergency, even if I’m in a cabinet meeting.
RONALD REAGAN:—-I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will always eventually triumph. And there’s a purpose and worth to each and every life.
The Ghouls…At the White House Correspondence Dinner
Nobody Opinion
To make something funny, sometimes there has to be a bit of truth in it, and last night at the White House Correspondent Dinner, comedian Joel McHale pretty much summed up the all the people who attended with one perfect word: Ghouls.
His description was perfect: From Obama on down, the room was filled with rich, snobby looking ghouls. The once supportive and sycophantic members of the first “BLACK” President, were not so thrilled anymore with their black star. They looked pale. Tired. Bored. The black man who makes everything he talks about, pertain to the color of skin, you could tell, was starting to get to them..
There is only so often that you can talk about how much white people are racist, before it just starts getting old.
The theme was America is now and always WILL be…a racist country, and so special new awards were giving to black students to honor the first black White House reporter. Sorry, I didn’t catch his name…although Obama did mention that he now has a high school named after himself in Chicago.
Obama took over the dinner from the beginning. The first half was all about the White House Press corps, as if, no other media outlet counted. CNN,FOX, MSNBC…merely sidekicks to the very special reporters that have to sit in front of Jay Carney every day.
They started it off with a promo by A & E, who it was said, put up the money for the propaganda film about how important it is to have a press to question the President.
(Ha.ha.ha….ha…really? )
The video was a Obama and Bill Clinton love fest, and one got the feeling that it was made for the people out in America watching the dinner, because everybody who has been following the news knows that Obama has shut just about every reporter and photographer, out of the White House. The White House Press corps doesn’t even exist anymore. Obama gets to choose the question AND the reporter he will talk to that day. It’s staged. It’s all staged.
Then we had the “scholarships” awards given to blacks, women, foreigners–just about everybody but a white guy. We heard Steve Thomas, the White House Press Core President, give us all another “American has been so racist” lecture about blacks and women….that when on for another 20 minutes, and even I was wondering how any man could be so cheery talking about the horrible people in America.
Steve really was cheery.
And as they called out the names of the winners, Michelle saved her biggest hugs for the black kids, and what did they get? A measly $2500 reward. The kids were carefully picked for the color of their skin, their citizenship to foreign countries. and their devotion, no doubt, to global warming, if they would have let any of them talk.
So….the richest people in the country live in Washington D.C., and all they could fork up for those kids, was..basically pizza money.
(Wow. Mom..DAD! Look, I got $3,000 scholarship from Obama!)
For all the gripping Obama does about the ‘RICH” the irony of it is, they live richer than everybody, and yet, not one ghoul in that audience besides FOX news think there is any contradiction there, because they are all rich.So when Joe Biden did a video where he’s driving a fancy convertible, looking like he’s only 20 and acting “cool.” and you have to wonder…THIS is humor? (see video below) Are they TRYING to rub it in our faces that they are rich?
Yes— the man who is one step away from the President, can wear sunglasses, and act like a pick-up artist. That should make us feel…safe?
Obama jokes were mostly cutting–putting down just about everyone he wanted to, with a smirk, and a “you can’t touch me” attitude. CNN, the Koch brothers, FOX, Bundy…he sure can talk.
But…
It was lame.
And classless. Which left Joel McHale with nowhere else to go BUT stupid gay jokes, and more classless jokes, and some truths…like the one where he said he was pretty sure Obama would be graded right up there with the first…50 Presidents.
So how did the ghouls like it? You could tell by the applause…weak. VERY weak. They are already tired of this black man who rules them now with a black iron fist.
They are now being told that only the White House propaganda machine is important, and the ghouls…can’t say it out loud, but you could see it on their faces. They have been shut out, from the Messiah, and this hope and change was not exactly what even THEY anticipated.
The great black wonder was never suppose to ditch them. Bill Clinton is waiting for his big comeback, he can hardly wait.
So, I’m sorry to-day that The White House Correspondence dinner was changed tonight…to another propaganda agenda PR event for the left…and the stars they will pick for tomorrow to report and obey, the President.
There is no class left in this President. Like he said, “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.
Will the ghouls of the Press Corps wake up from their zombie sleep? The only one who looked awake was Arianna Huffington.
Or will they march on, collecting their big salaries and repeating what the White House wants?
Gee…we didn’t need a White House Dinner to know the answer to that now, did we? Hopefully next year, Joe Biden will wrestle a bear, or else the zombies in America will start eating out instead staying home and watching the White House Correspondent dinner on Cable.
I’d rather eat a bug.
What Would Lincoln Say About Rancher Bundy?
Nobody Remembers
The cry in the news today was like a tornado coming into Kansas: RACIST! RACIST! RACIST! Yes, Mr. Bundy, the hero of the past week, just came off his high horse. Probably due to all the support he was getting all over the country, he was embolden to give more of his “opinions.”
Reeling from the: “I was a nobody and now everybody is listening to little old me:” he came forth to say:
“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” Bundy began, as he recounted seeing a group of “older people and kids” sitting idle in an open doorway of the building.
“They didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do,” he said.
“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”
“They never learned to pick cotton?” Okay, this guy is OLD, and obviously hasn’t traveled farther than Las Vegas.
Now, most Americans going about their day, did NOT hear: I HATE BLACK PEOPLE. What was this man’s opinion is that black people may have been better off working and having a family.
He wants to see them WORK.
I assume that’s what he meant. Choosing “slavery” to say it was very ignorant. Yes, it smacks of white superiority to blacks, and to show he was not racist, he started praising the Hispanics.
Poor guy. He should have talked about his cows.
While the obvious stereotypical “blacks are lazy” is expressed, he blames it on the government. But, remember—this is an opinion of many whites…who work hard and see the blacks getting big welfare checks, while they would never want to see them picking cotton again, it sure would be nice if they could all get jobs outside of the government.
It’s okay for the Mexicans to pick fruit, right? Why do democrats never complain about the fruit plantations?
They see the Mexican guy busting his ass, working hard, but not the black people, who let’s admit, too many blacks have been kept on a democratic slave plantation where they don’t have to work.
Even Abigail Adams thought free blacks were lazy and slow, and not because she was raciest. She complained about them more than once, she finally fired them and got Scots to do the work around the White House. Remember, John Adams was the ONLY founder who had no slaves, and thought it was an abomination from the beginning. Abigail Adams might have agreed with Bundy.
Al Sharpton has said more raciest things in his lifetime than Bundy, but that’s another blog.
What was upsetting about this, is FOX news going after the man, and acting like that opinion made all that had happened on his ranch..HIS fault, not the government.
They did a complete 160…now the man had no RIGHT at all to resist the government.
(Yes, it’s all about the money, and no the government had no right to take his cattle and bring in the 4th battalion.)
Nobody Thinks some reporter knew just the right question to ask, of a man who obviously can’t understand what is happening to his way of life, and didn’t know how the media would crucify him. Which brings me to today historical moment to remember: How the democratic party, which fought to continue slavery, treated the Republicans before the Civil War;
You could not WIN if you were a Republican.
Here is section of a speech Lincoln gave while running for President, at Cooper Union, New York, and he was talking to the democrats, who remember your history, loved the slave trade and wanted to keep it.
“I would address a few words to the Southern people. (democrats)
I would say to them: you consider yourselves to a reasonable and a just people: and I consider that in the general qualities of reason and justice you are not inferior to any other people. Still, when you speak of us Republicans you do so only to denounce us as reptiles, or at the best, as no better than outlaws. You will grant a hearing to pirates or murderers, but nothing like it to “Black Republicans.” In all your contentions with one another, each of you deems an unconditional condemnation of “Black Republicanism” as the first thing to be attended to. Indeed, such condemnation of us seems to be an indispensable prerequisite—license, so to speak, among you to be admitted or permitted to speak at all. now, can you or not be prevailed upon to pause and to consider whether this is quiet just to us or even to yourselves? Bring forward you charges and specification, and then be patient long enough to hear us deny or justify.”
So, in this world were a white person can not only no longer say “nigger” but “negro” Bundy has already been deemed a imbecile, and not worthy of us anymore.
But..like Lincoln would also observe: ..Obama would welcome the Muslim Brotherhood into the White House, before he would welcome Mr. Bundy. (And he has) He would sit in the pews of a racist Muslim white hater, for over twenty years, but he would not listen to Bundy. He would hang out with rappers that talk smack, and demean women, and do drugs, rather than excuse Bundy.
In my Nobody’s Opinion, I would trust a very old, out of date, opinionated man like Bundy long before I would trust a President who was once a drug addict, and is destroying the whole country, and behaves like a psychopath. A man who has released a silent holocaust on his own people called, with extreme hypocrisy: Obamacare
Does having an uneducated black race of people, who should be off the poor, city, democratic plantation help America?
In that respect, I think Bundy might have something
Maybe he should have said: They’d be better off picking grapes in the San Fernando Valley.
Rancher Hage…Saved by a Good Judge
Nobody Wins
A reader brought this story to my attention: Mr. Bundy is not the only rancher that is getting destroyed by our government. It seems Nevada farmer Wayne Hage has been fighting with the Bureau of Land Management for two decades and it took him that long to win.
What did they do to Mr. Hage? Short of tying him to the railroad rail in front of a steaming locomotive— everything.
From The Foundry:
“The case has long, complicated procedural history, but in essence, the federal government in 1991 refused to renew a grazing permit that the Hage ranch had held on federal lands for a very long time. The government also interfered with the Hage family’s water rights, which pre-dated the implementation of the grazing permit system in 1934, by restricting their access to various streams and wells. The BLM seized the Hages’ cattle and filed a civil trespass action against Hage, at one point even building fences around waterways to keep thirsty cattle from getting water, a scene right out of a 1930s Western movie.”
So, who came to the good rancher’s rescue? Was it the Oklahoma militia? His neighbors?
Nope, it was a wise and decent judge: U.S. District Court Judge Robert C. Jones
“Judge Jones issued an injunction against the federal government interfering with the Hage family’s water rights and ordered it to grant a grazing permit in accordance with the “historical usages and preferences” in that area of Nevada. The judge said he was restricting the government’s “normal discretion” in “this extreme case because of the conspiracy…and the obvious continuing animus against Hage by” government officials. Two government employees were held in contempt by the judge for sending trespass notices to people who leased or sold cattle to the Hages in order to “pressure other parties not to do business with the Hages, and even to discourage or punish testimony in the” case. The judge referred them to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for “potential prosecution for obstruction of justice.” That is quite an indictment of the Interior Department and its employees.”
Sadly, Mr. Hage died before he saw victory. His son won the day.
So, you have to wonder, how many other ranchers have been fighting this same fight that we haven’t heard about?
And this brings me to a point that drives me nuts. If these folks had got a liberal judge, they would have lost everything. I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but here in Missouri, when you go to vote for your judges, you can’t find out a thing about them. You can’t find out if they are democrats or republicans or what their records are.
Everything that is released on them, is very nebulous…like—-
Judge McRoy has been serving the community for 35 years, he is from the Law firm Beck and Beck, and is an upstanding member of the community—yada, yada, yada….
There should be information at every voting place telling you the habits, party affiliations, and records of each and every judge you vote for.
Good luck finding anything negative about any of them.
The fact that we can’t find this information, is proof that they want to stack the courts in their favor. The less you know about the judge you are voting for, the better.
As far as I know, I’ve never heard ONE other person besides myself think that this stacks the deck of corruption. It’s how the democrats get their agenda passed. It’s corrupt, and nobody seems to mind.
Okay. I had my say on that.
Still…it was good to read that the Hage family got justice. Hopefully, there is a judge somewhere that will stand up to the BLM whenever it appears. Nobody Thinks, that if we REALLY knew all that the government has done to steal land from the West, we’d be shocked.
Whatever happened to Woodies Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land, From California, to the New York Island. From the Redwood Forest, to the Gulf Stream Waters…THIS LAND WAS MADE FOR YOU AND ME.” ?
Right. That used to be an old ‘hippie’ song. Maybe we should start singing it again.
(Thanks to toiga for the article)
Nobody Remembers Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Warning About Weak Foriegn Policy
Nobody Remembers
While we all sit and watch Putin invade the Ukraine, with stated plans to overtake other parts of old Russia, Obama makes fluffy speeches. Obama has made it known, Putin can do just about anything he wants. So can Iran. Obama’s new foreign policy is: America is just going to play golf. You guys go ahead and we’ll stay out of it.
Is taking America off the world stage going to work? Will the tyrants of the world leave us alone, if we let them take over other countries?
According to Dwight D. Eisenhower, it’s a sure recipe for war.
And so, Nobody Remembers a speech that Dwight D. Eisenhower gave to the American people on March 29th, 1952, when he was running for President.
Eisenhower ran on three issues: Korea, Communism and corruption.
From Wikipedia:
He defeated Democrat Adlai Stevenson in a landslide, with an electoral margin of 442 to 89, marking the first Republican return to the White House in 20 years. In the election he also brought with him a Republican majority in the House (by eight votes) and in the Senate (actually a tie, with Nixon providing the majority vote).
(Proving that real conservatives win elections.)
Below are a few examples from that speech. Eisenhower was one of greatest generals in world history, and reading it will make you wonder..how in the world did America fall so low with Obama? Who, if you listen to Eisenhower, will lead us all into WWIII.
Remember, in 1952, we were at war with North Korea:
Dwight D. Eisenhower:
“There is a Korean War—and we are fighting it for the simplest of reasons: Because free leadership failed to check and to turn back Communist ambition before it savagely attacked us. The Korean War, more perhaps than any other war in history simply and swiftly followed the collapse of our political defenses. There is no other reason than this. We failed to read and to outwit the totalitarian mind.
World War II should have taught us all one lesson. The lesson is this: To vacillate, to hesitate—to appease even by merely betraying unsteady purpose—is to feed a dictator’s appetite for conquest and to invite war itself. That lesson—which should have firmly guided every great decision of our leadership through these later years…was ignored in the development of the administration’s policies for Asia since the end of World War II. Because it was ignored, the record of these policies is a record of appalling failure.
Already along the 38th Parallel aggression is speaking with the too familiar voices of howitzers and cannons. our position is untenable and indefensible. The House should be aware of this.
These words of eloquent, reasoned warning were spoken about eleven months before the Korean War broke.
What a tragedy that the administration shrugged off that so accurate warning!
The armies of communism thus informed began their big build-up. Six months later they were ready to strike across the 18th Parallel. They struck on June 25, 1950. On that day, the record of political and diplomatic failure of this administration was completed and sealed.
Programs along at least two lines can instantly begin. We can, first, step up the program of training and arming the South Korean forces.
We can secondly shape our psychological warfare program into a weapon capable of cracking the Communist front.
The vital lesson is this: To vacillate, to appease, to placate is only to invite war–vaster war, bloodier war. In the words of the late Senator Vandenberg, appeasement is not the road to peace: it is only surrender on the installment plan.
I will always reject appeasement.
“A nations foreign policy is a much graver matter than rustling papers and bustling conferences. It is much more than diplomatic decisions and trade treaties and military arraignments. A foreign policy is the face and voice of a whole people. It is all that the world sees and hears and understand about a single nation. It expresses the character and the faith and the will of that nation. In this, a nation is like any individual of our personal acquaintance: the simplest gesture can betray hesitation or weakness, the merest inflection of voice can reveal doubt or fear. It is in this deep sense that our foreign policy had faltered and failed. “
I don’t know about you..but that last paragraph is chilling close to the Obama administration.
So, if you go by Eisenhower’s convictions: Obama’s handling of our foreign affairs in the world, will lead us all into the bloodiest war every fought. But…nobody reads history anymore…do they?
Alex Jones Reporter Gives a Detailed Summary of Events in Nevada
Nobody Flashes
I have noticed that the cable news channels, while making this a big headline, REALLY don’t tell you about what really happened out there in Nevada. This man goes into more detail, and how this could have turned to a war.
The government was right to back down. They did have an army out there, and no doubt, more than a few drones. Holder choose to back down on this one, because of elections this year, because of how it would have looked if any of these people were shot.
After all, they had no right to steal those cows.
Notice at the end, how Wal-Mart also played a part.
Something tells me, we have not seen the end of this—
Nobody Remembers: The Supernote
Nobody Remembers
I was thinking today— it’s funny the things you don’t remember, isn’t it? Okay, there was a three-day stretch in my life that I vaguely remember where I was. (Trust me, I was not drugged,)
Agatha Christie had one of those times too…only she forgot about 10 days out of her life. But in the history of everyday lives and news…
Do you remember the supernote? I didn’t, but I read about it today.
Back in 1989, a woman at a Philippine bank notice something didn’t ‘feel’ right about a $100 dollar bill she was counting. Yep. It was fake. It had been printed on the same type of $10 million device used by the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing: It’s paper content was 75 percent cotton and 25 percent linen. It was an exact copy of U.S. Currency. The best counterfeit every made.
It was so perfect, they called it the supernote, and it was showing up all over the world.
The FBI suspected Iran, (which had already purchased two of those presses) Syria, Russia, East Germany, and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Some even suspected the CIA. (No doubt, Al Sharpton has one in his basement)
And then they figured out it was actually North Korea that was printing them. In fact, Kim Jong-Ils not only was printing money, but he was also dealing in black market cigarettes, pharmaceuticals, drugs and weapons just to keep his Elvis movie collection up-to-date.
Doesn’t that make you wonder how much counterfeit everything we see in this country, that they don’t even bother to report? Is that prescription you are taking actually real?
While over $60 million dollars of fake supernotes were eventually found, it was thought that over $964 billion is still in circulation. In fact, you could have some of it in your wallet.
You might ask: Did it cause any financial destabilization?
Sure. We just didn’t hear about it, and you know why?
Daddy Bush Was afraid that North Korea would walk away from nuclear weapons talks if he even complained about it, which in hindsight didn’t matter, because Bill Clinton won the election and gave Kim Jong Ills all the plutonium he needed to make nukes. (And they are STILL best friends!)
And even though THAT wasn’t on the evening news much, it’s true. Kim Jong Il’s promised he would never use it to make nukes. Like a typical politician: He lied. This could be the reason why nobody in the world would even dare to go to visit North Korea but a gay basketball player.
And I don’t remember what Bill Clinton got out of that deal for America…do you?
The reality is, the Federal Reserve makes North Korea’s inflationary tactics seem amateurish.
And every day, I ask myself, what is it that I won’t remember tomorrow besides what I left off my grocery list?
If Snowden had not told us about the NSA spying on us, would we one day be told and then say to ourselves…You know, I really don’t remember that. So from now on, if you don’t remember something, odds are, your government never bothered to tell you.
And by the way, just so you know, I’m pretty sure the Commander-in-Chief…is a fake, a counterfeit, not even as good as a supernote if you wanted to compare him to the real thing…
And you can either forget that…or not.
Billions of people all over the world…have already…. forgotten.
Nobody Remembers the First Library
Nobody Remembers
Lots of people know that Ben Franklin started the first library, but reading about it in his OWN words, is pretty cool. Below I ‘reprint’ Ben’s own explanation about how he thought of the concept of a library…
(Ben was VERY good at promoting all his achievements as John Adams used to so cantankerously observe.)
Actually, I also think Ben started the concept of “branding” because he made sure when he was in Paris, that you could buy his image on cups, fans, coins—-his image was all over Paris.
I love reading the founders own words and have often thought, that if our children in our schools read throughout the grades the founders own words, (instead of the rewritten history by some liberal idiot) the country would be more educated and KNOW just how much our leaders are destroying us all. It’s obvious that one of the reasons we are in such a mess today, is because of our terrible schools, which I am beginning to think is on purpose.
Why do I think it’s on purpose? Ben will tell you.
Pay attention to the last sentence: Ben knew that only an informed and educated public will stand up for its rights.
–ENJOY! And be amazed at the genius (and good common sense) of Ben Franklin.
From Ben’s Biography 1771
He had just moved from Boston—(Library is in Franklin, MA)
“I began now to have some acquaintance among the young people of the town that were lovers of reading, with whom I spent my evenings very pleasantly: and gained money by my industry and frugality. I lived very contended and forgot Boston as much as I could, and did not wish it should be known where I resided, except to my friend Collins, who war in the secret and kept it faithfully.
About this time 1730, our club meeting not at a tavern but in a little room of Mr. Grace’s set apart for that purpose, a proposition was made by me that, since our books were often referred to in our disquisitions upon the queries, it might be convenient to us to have them all together when we met, that upon occasion, they might be consulted. And by thus clubbing our books into a common library, we should, while we liked to keep them together, have each of us the advantage of using the books of all the other members, which would be nearly as beneficial as if each owned the whole. It was liked and agreed to , and we filled on end of the room with such books as we could best spare. The number was not so great as we expected: and, though they had been of great use, yet some inconveniences occurring for want of due care of them, the collection, after about a year, was separated and each took his books home again.
And now I set on foot my first project of a public nature—that for a subscription library. I drew up the proposals, got them put into form by our great scrivener Brockden, and, by the help of my friends in the Junto, procured fifty subscribers of 40s. each to begin with and 10s. a year for fifty years, the term our company was to continue. We afterward obtained a charter, the company being increased to one hundred. This was the mother of all the North American subscription libraries, now so numerous. It is become a great thing itself, and continually goes on increasing. These libraries have improved the general conversation of the Americans, made the common tradesmen and farmers as intelligent as most gentlemen from other countries, and perhaps have contributed in some degree to the stand so generally made throughout the colonies in defense of their privileges. “
And for that this Nobody will FORVER be grateful! Thank you Benjamin Franklin!
Mike Morell, Doesn’t Remember Much Either
Nobody Flashes
Benghazi remains a mystery, and today, Mike Morell, who was responsible for the CIA operations at that time, came before Congress to once again, do what democrats do best:
Lie, obfuscate, and say “I don’t remember.” at least 50 times.
Hillary perfected this line of defense. She has said “I don’t remember, and I don’t recall” more times in her career than the tics on the back of 20 wart hogs.
Mike also showed another one of the democrats favorite defenses: When presented with the facts, they answer in a strong tone, “No HERE are the facts!” THEY attack! With basically nonsense of “Nobody is to blame especially the President.”
Works every time. What was found out, is that Mike doesn’t think the fact that the Obama, Hillary, and Susan Rice were taking the U.N.’s talking points on how it was a video that caused the riot, (The UN wants to make talking against Islam a crime.) and they put a man in jail just to push that point, is important.
Or the problem that the CIA could care less what their people are saying on the ground, they take their information from the people in the Oval office. That’s also very minor to Mike.
Good to know,— all you CIA agents out there. Next time you get attacked, call the President and ask him what is happening. (good luck with that)
Mike has had a lot of time to practice the art of defection…and turning the questions into…none of this matters, and what are we going to do in the future?
Proving that Mike has been coached by Hillary.
I guess she needs SOMETHING to do.
Ted Cruz…Keeps the Flame of Hope Alive
Nobody Flashes
Isn’t it nice to know that this man, is standing up for all of us?
I could watch this every day, in fact, I think I will.
Ted Cruz…makes Mr. New Jersey look like just another crooked politician. I actually heard Chris Christie today, pull out the old, “My child ask me today…’Daddy did you do it?’
“‘No son.”
As if…voters are suppose to believe that he would never lie to his own son.
The unions just ran a democrat in republican clothing. I’m sorry. Chris Christie looks like some guy from the Sopranos. He TALKS like a guy from the Sopranos.
Ted Cruz, talks like a patriot.
And the way things are going…Ted Cruz might be the next Noah.
Enjoy!
Education, High Wages, and the Klu Klux Klan
Nobody Remembers
When I was about eight, my grandfather bought the entire Britannica Encyclopedia and gave it to our family at Easter. Of course, it was for me, because the whole family knew my brother didn’t pick up anything to read unless it was the latest Superman comic. And tonight, I pulled a volume out of that same set, to see what it had to say about the history of education in America. Just what I always thought. The nation started off with the “Little School house on the Prairie ” and then some time later, they decided every child needed to be educated, so they made everyone pay taxes and we were all pushed into school at five.
BUT…Mental Floss Magazine added some stuff, I had never heard..like…did you know that the Klu Klux Klan was one of the main reasons we got mandatory school?
“Grandpa— that wasn’t in the Encyclopedia.”
According to the mental at Mental Floss, before the 1820s, HALF the laborers in American cotton mills were children under the age of 15. And the real reason adults wanted the kids out of the labor force was because of the competition. Children were cheaper, and had more energy. Mary Kenny O’Sullivan, vice president of the National Women’s Trade Union League, said,
“Whenever child labor prevails there is a corresponding decrease in employment for adults.”
Right you are, Mary.
Yes, those dirty rotten kids were taking jobs away from women. Can you imagine? In fact, getting rid of the kids was one of the big factors in uniting the American labor movements.
So— because they didn’t want to throw the little burgers out in the street, the labor leaders thought up a whole new industry: mandatory school, lead by unionized teachers, where they could also get those pesky women out of the factories too! It was a perfect plan.
Massachusetts was the first state to pass a compulsory education law. By 1886, 16 states followed.
Business owners enamored with their short low-cost labor poll, denounced the statues as “communist” and “un-American.”
Then, great news! After they got rid of the kids, wages went up as much as 150 percent! The average work day fell from 14 hours a day to 11.
This was such a great idea that the labor leaders called for compulsory education everywhere, and that’s when the Klu Klux Kan decided it was a good way to FORCE immigrants to conform to white Protestant culture.
(A horrible culture that included math, science, reading, writing…all those terrible things.)
But…kids could still work on weekends and after hours, and so the Klan decided to stop it, and they rallied for a national ban on child labor. It was the Northern Klansmen against the Southern industrialist.
(So…..when blacks couldn’t pick cotton anymore, they got kids. Is that what you get out of this?)
The Klan won the constant lobbying. In 1938 the Fair Labor Standard Act officially ended child labor, but the black kids could STILL work. White children across the south were guaranteed an education, the black kids, well…they could still pick cotton, but this time, they got paid. They didn’t have to go to school.
It was still the racist Klan. But hey, Robert Byrd used to be a member, proving that what? Did the Northern Klansmen move to the South? Did they leave the North?
Mental Floss didn’t say.
So what do we learn from this mental floss history lesson?
Nobody Learned that we need a National Labor Act (Or the Klan Reparations Act) saying that illegal immigrants cannot work in America.
According to history, everybody’s wages would go up by 150 percent.
And young black men, who simply cannot get a decent education out of the American mandatory public school system, could finally make a decent wage.
Thanks to Mental Floss, it’s all very clear. We should all call our Congressmen and remind them that we got rid of the kids in our factories, let’s get rid of the illegals.
Workers…unite!
