Men…In Drag…In Baseball…In High School…and Dancing…

Nobody Gets Email

I have to say…these guys ALMOST did as good a job as the girls dancing! It’s the Senior VS the Staff…dance off, and it’s pretty funny. So…what is it about men wanting to get dressed up in girl’s clothes?

It seems to be a long-standing tradition, especially in Baseball, for the “hazing” ritual of baseball players to dress up in drag. Tony La Russa has a fine picture of the Cardinals World Series Champs of 2011, dressed up like women in his new book “One Last Strike.”

As a woman, I just can’t see the fun in this…but there you go. It’s Saturday night…Game Three of the World Series will be underway soon, and I am going to try to picture every one of the men on those teams in a pink tutu. Some of them would look pretty funny…I hope…the tradition continues!

Enjoy the video…and be thankful that in some parts of the United States, principles and coaches still have a sense of humor! (Thanks to Mona)

  2. Oh come on, no sense of humor, we all need a laugh now and again, maybe even a small smile. And yes, show us the knickers and everything else that should be covered , as if that will give us a laugh. It may a smile, that is for sure for Men?? 😙 😞

  3. Hahahahaha. Really though, all those guys are doing is parodying Toni Basil’s dancers on the original ‘Hey, Mikey’ video. There we saw six beefy girls pretending they were chaps pretending they were girls.

I know, it is going back a bit. I had to trawl through dozens of ‘copies’ and amateur vids just to find the original. (Note: There is one at least, of Toni with several chaps – a ‘musical accompanyment) – who gave every impression of being seriously mentally challenged, dressed in clownish costume which I think was their usual performance kit. Bizarre !)

The Thespian tradition has had women dressed as men for as many centuries as there have been theatrical performances, which is going back a bit. Even soft porn has women in men’s suits (sans trousers) and shirts (unbuttoned, of course), but at least your cheerleaderchappies spared us their dangly bits by wearing baggy trews beneath their skirts.

Also one has to remember that men have worn skirts since before Caesar. I didn’t hear any jeering at the cinema when Brad Pitt strode infront of the gates of Troy in his little battle dress.

I too am not greatly impressed with chaps cavorting in girl’s clothes. The whole idea of girl’s clothes is to display girly bits and when you don’t have any it is not particularly attractive. Bring on the fine healthy girls who show us their knickers, I say. That is what cheer leaders are about.
