Nobody's Opinion

The Show MUST Go on…Popesmoke.

Nobody Reports

Now…I don’t want to offend anybody’s Christian religion, but the sight of all these old guys walking around in lace and dresses today at the Vatican— walking around in the most lavish and expensive building in all the world… each one poker faced…going to silently pick the next Pope…was rather…silly to me. Their rings alone look like they could feed half of Kenya.Vatican Pope

It’s not that the Catholic church hasn’t done a lot of good in the world, but their record of evil is long and historically, wide as a worm hole to purgatory.

I have never forgiven the hypocritical Catholic church, who “excommunicated” me when I divorced my  first husband. I became a Catholic to marry him, and he never set a foot in that church again.

He was a true Catholic in every sin (sense) and so, like the many Priests who have sinned again choir boys, never to be sent to prison, my husband was kept in high standing and my son and I were excommunicated from the church….

No matter how I pleaded our innocence, it mattered not to the church.

He was BORN a Catholic, I was not. He could have been a serial killer…no matter to the Church. Nope.

And that right there shows you what really matters to them.

So you must forgive me if I find the Catholic church..while beautiful in its historical heredity, just another hierarchy institution which has too many times, only been interested in its own “rich” survival.

From the selling of “penances,” to the slaughter of millions of innocent “witches,” to the rapes of too many children, the institution should be overhauled.

The Catholic people deserve it.

Personally, I think all the pomp and circumstance is rather overbearing. Certainly not anything that Jesus taught in his life.

All you need to know about being Catholic, is written on Nancy Pelosi’s face. She has never been excommunicate, and she supports abortions.  You have to wonder what the next Pope will be like: Will he be ‘progressive?’ Supporting abortions, gay marriage, and communism?

The last pope was on that road. Vatican

Like most other people I was glued to the entertainmnet of all those old guys walking and mumbling. Nobody puts on a show like the Catholics. The great theater goes on…to make us all feel that there is something very special about the man that is chosen to be pope.

In the meantime, every single one of those Cardinals looks VERY well fed. And in this Nobody’s Opinion, the sooner they let the priest’s marry, in fact encouraged marriage for them all, the better the church will be.

I wonder if we will get to watch 115 Cardinals  KISS the ring of the new Pope.

Nobody Wonders if that’s where the Mafia Don’s got the idea?

Mmmmmm?

  1. Ageism, sexism, linguism all inappropriate. Better to kiss a ring than another part of the body like some pols I know. At least 2 of the guys I know live on what amounts to a permanent fast despite Rome’s restaurants. Get your facts right. David Kenney.

    • I believe a majority of the good priests do their best: Nevertheless…too many of the top guys protect the bad apples. Just like in our government. And my “facts” come from all the daily news in all the world papers, so either ALL of them are wrong, or I am. There has always been corruption in the church..as in governments. Even the last Pope admitted it.   It’s part of human history. Do we ignore it? Or put up with it? Or keep silent about it? Please, what do you suggest? And about ‘ageism”…my parents both had strokes…(after 60) .I know about what it does to the human brain. The pope had a stroke. He was wise to step down. Some people remain very sharp until death. Some do not.   Each man is different.   A sound mind should be head leader. That’s common sense, not prejudice. Unless of course, the pope is just a symbol and powerless. I’m not so sure about that. FDR won the fourth term even though every one around him knew he was mentally incapacitated.   NOTE: This is an OPINION blog. I base most of my opinions on what I read…and I have read vast amounts…throughout my years. NO degree, so I don’t claim to be an expert, BUT, it’s just an opinion.   In the scheme of things…only worth my own satisfaction isn’t it? It just blurts out. Not sure if I would want it any other way.   After all, I’m not a pope. By the way…how did you get

  2. http://www.quadrant.org.au/magazine/issue/2013/1-2/father-scapegoat

Some interesting observations about clerical sex scandals. It seems American protestant pastors are far worse than catholics and we all know about the female teacher sex assaut epidemic there. Let’s get a bit of balance.

I read your posts avidly, Joy, savouring every word. Read the link with such care too.

  3. I am a Catholic. I have never heard of a Catholic convert being excommunicated for getting a divorce. I suppose it might happen in America where all the ‘liberalisation’ of the Church seems to have come from. Perhaps you might like to look at Michael Voris’s huge body of criticisms of the Church, especially in America, that is on you tube. Look for ‘Church Militant TV’.

Yes there is great wealth and pomp in the Church. Too much pomp for my liking too, but the wealth comes from 2000 years of parishioners giving their money on collection plates (hense none of your damned business) and the vast majority is spent on hospitals, schools, an enormous Charity effort (the largest in the world) etc. In many countries (such as Oz) the schooling and health systems would collapse if Catholics stopped paying for them. If you look at all the Cathedrals in England pretty well all of them were built and paid for by Catholics and then stolen by the State and handed to the Protestant Anglicans.

The pomp of the Papal election, and the cost, pales into insignificance compared to the election of your President. Flying in and housing a few hundred folk from around the world and feeding them for a fortnight while they elect a new leader of 1.1 billion people is nothing compared to weeks and weeks of advertising on TV to push this presidential thug or that other. And you do it every four years!

You are my good friend. I am sorry you were hurt by a stupid local priest. My bet is that he was either American or Irish. The Church is an Institution populated by people. People can be quite nuts.

    • Well, I know that YOU know what I think of the pomp and circumstance of our American govenment, or ALL govenments for that matter. Your Queen and your prime Minister are no exception either. If you don’t know, then you are just speed reading over what I write and not really reading my words.   When I come across that letter of excommunication, I will post it. (I have it somewhere) And really, with all the sex scandals and all the boys that have been sexually abused and the MILLIONS lost on the priests that were never taken out…a mere girl and her son being exommunicated is nothing.   Yes, the Church has done great things. (I said so.) I continue to believe in the simple Nobodies of the world, and not so much in a lot of institutions. Statistically speaking, I’m sure the good priests far outway the bad.
