Obama Sadly Discovers He is Not Emperor of the United States….

Nobody Gets Email

I can’t stop laughing at this one..where Obama tries to convince a poor Latino girl,—- if he were Emperor, all her dreams would come true…

But sadly, he is supposed to enforce the law on the books.

Poor man.

Nobody Remembers, To Clean Out the File Cabinet…and Other Thoughts on Best Freinds

Nobody Remembers

I don’t remember the historian that said this…but this guy on C-Span said that the historians of the future are going to have a really hard time trying to figure out history. One of the reasons we know so much about our founders, he said… is that they kept their letters.  Sometimes, even on a particular day, you could find out even if it rained. Jefferson wrote to Adams, Adams wrote to Abigail, Adams wrote to Jefferson, and the whole family kept dairies…George wrote to everybody…and they all wrote to each other.Adams letters

When email came along, those of us who love to write were ecstatic—Wow…FREE mail! And we could get an instant reply! When it first came out…you did.

Then Twitter hit, and we are regulated to just “tweets” of our thoughts, which are being stored in the deep bowels of some building somewhere for who knows what purpose…and the letter writers of yesterday, are now bloggers

But for history’s sake, Nobody anymore keeps emails. If they do, they pile up in some cloud somewhere simply because the cost of ink and paper has gone up so much, it’s impractical. But— once upon a time—in a galaxy not too long ago…

I printed out my emails. I know…WHY?

As I sit at my computer, right next to me is my 4- drawer file cabinet. I haven’t opened it in ten years…nope..although its stuffed with what I once considered, very important printouts from my computer…now you SAVE everything onto something…anything but paper.

And I’ve decided to open those drawers once and for all, and clean them out.

I’m…a fool. BECAUSE…every drawer contains about 35 folders stocked full of papers, and I started out thinking: Okay, piece of cake. I’m just going to flick through this, and get it all done today. file cabinet

Ha.

So, I opened up the top drawer…got to the first folder, and the heading said: Emails. I started reading…and low and behold, I found out so many things I had forgotten, I just had to write THEM down. I found out the year I got our first BIGSCREEN TV: The year our heater and air conditioner broke at the same time and we had to cancel our trip to Florida to pay for new units: my son’s first job: The time my son had a party and someone puked into the hot tub and “mom ” had to drain it and clean it up the next day: The day First Lady Laura Bush’s secretary actually called me to ‘apologize’ for not answering my letter: The morning our old station wagon died and how we went out and bought our first Santa Fe that very night (with a light in the glove box that has never gone off.)

In other words…I found my history.

And so…in remembrance of our lives (I’m figuring mine is pretty normal) here’s a few paragraphs from some of the emails I sent to my friend Janet, who lives in Florida:

The Family Gets the FLU…

Jan 4, 2001

We were &$*% sick the whole holidays with a horrible, insidious stomach flu. The kind where you throw up everything you’ve eaten in the last two years, and then your vagina comes out. That’s after lying in bed for two days waiting to throw up. And freezing. Then a lull where you try to lie very still, and you eat a cup of Jell-O and then you are on the John for 6 hours, and if not for the TV and books in the bathroom you would go out of your &$%ing  mind. Of course— I got it the worst, while I was cooking Christmas dinner and smelling food, my son gets it and starts crying he feels so bad, after complaining about throwing up— his teeth chattering from the cold, and I have to nurse him while my husband is downstairs throwing up and I’m praying that my mother doesn’t get it because it will kill her, and sure enough she gets it, but makes me feel worse because she just had it for one day, while I suffered a week. Her eyesight is better, her memory is better—god damn it. So, we had a real Merry Fucking Christmas.

May 19, 2001:The FIRST…my ‘opinion; on the Kentucky Derby:…To Janet….

The Saudi’s Get RevengeSaudi Prince horse

Hey, did you watch the Preakness today? How about this…Point Return, the horse favored to win the Kentucky Derby, who is owned by a Saudi Arabian Prince lost to an American Horse named Marocos (sp) owned by a Tulsa Oilman. Mysteriously, right after the race, 500 mares in Kentucky, mostly the expensive racing ones, came down with a disease due to the grass. $253 million dollars in losses from this. So Today…Point Return comes in first and Marocos…dead last. Coincidence? Are we just a little scared?  Nothing like a little horse biological weapon to get the point across I’d say. Yeah, I know, You think I’m crazy . But, I say, follow the money.

Both our Mothers Die in the Same Year….

July 23, 2001–And another…Janet’s mother and my mother died the same year, 2001. Her mother went in her sleep. Mine, wasn’t so lucky.

Mom had a major stroke, and I have been at the hospital day and night. She went in with a stroke and we had one nightmare experience after another. We found out days later that she also had a collapsed lung, then she got a bladder infection, then pneumonia, then her feeding tube came out, and she couldn’t be fed or get her medications for days, and today she had a feeding tube put into her stomach to be feed that way and the hospital she’s in has been hell, because they claimed she was brain-dead, while all the time she was talking to us, and we wanted her rehabilitated while they wanted her out. It had been hell and we have had to raise hell with the doctors, and nurses. Just today, after he operation the nurse told us, that not only was the food from her feeding tube– not going into her stomach, but they don’t know where it went. But to them from her pneumonia nothing was being suctioned out. And mom has slowly been losing her ability to speak, she is parlayized on one side and as if that wasn’t enough, her blood pressure goes up and down like a yo-yo. She now doesn’t remember where she lives but she told me she loved me tonight after not speaking for days. …

October 29, 2001—More…I am taking care of my mother at home. Janet…hospital

Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve had to write you a note…mom is sleeping and she doesn’t do that often. How are you doing? My life has been a nightmare since mom had her stroke of Friday the 13th…July. She was in the hospital for 5 weeks, then home for a while, then back for another week. She now has a j-tube through her g-tube and I’m praying the food stays down. Sometimes she know who I am, but mostly she just calls for me…I’m ‘mother.’ I’ve watched her suffer so much Janet and have been appalled at the medical attention she has gotten. In all, the hospital has made 9 life threatening mistakes, and even though we are out, they must be afraid of a lawsuit because they call every day to see how she is. I can’t believe she is alive, I can’t believe I have survived taking care of her. Mom had diarrhea for two months straight and I had a home nurse who wouldn’t change diapers. The poor thing stared vomiting badly and lucky I was there or she would choke on her own vomit.

Here’s what Janet wrote back:

Take care of yourself: We all have to live one day at a time now and be thankful for what we have and for the people we love and those that love us. Its all we can really hope for in life I think.

And THAT is why…I save my emails….my friends are incredible and extraordinary human beings. Janet’s advice is eternal. Life it tough…and the BEST thing you can have at your side is a true friend.  Best freind pup

I think I’m going to need another file cabinet.

Nobody Knows the Truth About Mercury

Nobody Knows

Do YOU know how many hours are in a day on Mercury? I didn’t…58.  I saw this and thought it was so funny I wanted to share it.

The truth is: It’s almost midnight, my husband’s mother died today, I forgot to thaw out the ravioli sauce for dinner, so ended up cooking French Toast—(And was craving salad)  broke my video camera, and did not get into even THINKING about a blog today due to all the stress .. so all the “serious” stuff I WAS going to write about…can wait.

There’s been a death in the family. Even if she didn’t like me…(And that’s putting it mildly) she did something very right…she gave birth to my loving husband.

So, I needed a good laugh tonight.

That’s the truth.

Enjoy! And tell me if you don’t go to bed tonight trying to figure out the three spins in one year stuff.

SOME People, Grow Up!

Nobody Reports

I have never seen one episode of Two and a Half Men. I once watched about three minutes of it, and Charlie Sheen said something very stupid, and that was about all I needed. Now— the young man who played the kid, Angus Jones, has grown up to become a Seventh Day Adventist, and is advising everyone not to watch it, because, it is crap.

So, why is EVERYONE attacking him now? He was making money off of crap.

How many people in Hollywood are making money off of crap? In that vein, how many ‘people’ in the world are making money off of selling crap? What did Jesus say? If you are guiltless…then who among you can cast the first stone?

Prostitutes of capitalism confess. You made money off of selling us Pamela Anderson running on the beach in a red bathing suit. You made money off of cotton candy. Let’s not forget the millions of people who bought cigarettes and died of cancer. I could argue my public education was so crappy, I to this day, have trouble with spelling. Crap. Crap. It’s everywhere.

But we are free to pick and choose…are we not? So far. They haven’t chipped Two and a Half Men to be downloaded into our brains…yet.

Frankly, Nobody Thinks if some of our politicians would come to a camera and say, “Hey, all these people up here are liars and they are ruining your life”…even though he was making millions, it would be a start. This Nobody would consider his worthiness for another term.

Good for Angus. Stating the obvious. Not too many do.

Schwarzenegger: The New Goebbels

Nobody’s Opinion

“Scientific socialism” would hold especial attraction for intellectuals by promising to replace spontaneous and messy life with a rational order of which they would be the interpreters and mentors.–Richard Pipes

Sorry. I have been in the land of Hallmark’s Christmas, “Santa makes all your dreams come true” marathon all day yesterday. My husband had a nasty cold, so we watched 4 Hallmark movies in a row— in bed. In fact, we only stopped between movies to eat,  and then jumped right back under the covers again.  What’s endearing about my husband is that he keeps the Kleenex box on his side of the bed, and I have always wondered how in the world he knows when to hand me one. He just does. He doesn’t even look at me, he just reaches over, grabs one, and hands it to me at the perfect moment: You know, at the big ending where everyone that was fighting makes up, and Santa Clause finds his way home, and the orphan kids get a meal, and they find the lost puppy, and well…these movies are all about family, love, and doing what’s right. There are not too many “gay” love stories in them…yet. Most of the Hallmark Movies are in the traditional Christmas spirit.

And darn it…Where else can you get that kind of entertainment anymore? In the last ten years, Hollywood has been promoting its social messages in every sitcom, movie, and song. They’ve been cramming them down our throats. In other words, we are being socially engineered by some of the most brilliant minds on the planet, to accept all their future goals for the masses.

And now, “Professor” Arnold Schwarzenegger has been put in charge of a special school, where these new propaganda artists will be trained to …as he puts it, “educate” the masses. Film, art, and government will become one entity, much as in old Germany. An institute to train future artists to continue…globalization.

He held a panel at the school on C-Span today, which consisted of Ron Meyer, President of Universal Studios, Brain Grazer of Imagine Entertainment (Apollo 13) Rob Friedman, Co-Chairman of Lionsgate, and Jimmy Iovine, record producer of Bruce Springsteen among others.

The giants.

Arnold said very bluntly that his institute was there to bring students and world leaders together to “educate, inform, and change attitudes.”

And these men were obviously proud of the social issues they had educated us on. They were all very proud of Brokeback Mountain for instance. What was very clear is how seriously these men took what they perceived to the social issues of the day. EVERYONE in America needed to be trained, educated, and taught how to think and act…and they knew how to get that message across.

The issues? Name every liberal issue you can think of…we’re going to see more of it: climate change, global warming, women empowerment, end of life issues (euthanasia) eating healthy, immigration, race,  etc….

In other words..Marxist propaganda all wrapped up in big smile— like only Arnold can deliver.

Yes, right there in Southern California, Arnold’s propaganda ministry will be training future propagandists for the global government.

Just look at who’s on the board: This is from Arnold’s website—

The new institute’s bipartisan Board of Advisors includes international leaders in business, public service and education. Initial members include Henry Cisneros, who as San Antonio’s mayor became the first Hispanic-American mayor of a major U.S. city and was appointed by President Bill Clinton as secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; Vicente Fox, who served as president of Mexico from 2000 to 2006; Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, chair of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change; George Shultz, economist and statesman who served as U.S. Secretary of State from 1982 to 1989; Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann; and Kandeh K. Yumkella, director-general of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

Guiding principles include: science and evidence must play an important role when finding solutions to policy and social issues; local solutions are often the best means to solve global problems; and future leaders, including students and young people, must help shape the solutions for our future

The USC Price School of Public Policy, established in 1929, is one of the premier schools of its kind in the nation. Through a time-honored commitment to public service, a legacy of strong connections to professional leaders and a world-renowned research portfolio, the school’s faculty, students and alumni work to improve the quality of life for people and their communities worldwide. The USC Price School of Public Policy is at the forefront of research and teaching on today’s major issues, including: housing and real estate markets, environmental sustainability, health care, economic development, transportation and infrastructure, governance and leadership, nonprofits and philanthropy, civic engagement, immigration and the impact of terrorism

Gee…sounds like you, dear poor pathetic uneducated citizen won’t have too much to say about any of this…but you can be sure they will try to ‘entertain’ you while you’re being brainwashed.

And Arnold may be a registered Republican, but like New York Mayor Bloomberg, there’s not a thing conservative about the man.

On September 27, 2006 Schwarzenegger signed a bill creating the nation’s first cap on greenhouse gas emissions.  He left California with a record high deficit, and worked with the Chinese Government to build a bridge there.

The politicians and Hollywood are practically united. This instituted will seal the final deal…and Nobody is more afraid than me, that these old Hallmark Christmas movies will someday stop, because they offend our Muslims citizens.

I did notice they are keeping a lot of the old Christmas songs out of them….even this year.

So…Arnold has a new job. He is now the New American Goebbels.  His father, would be proud.

Nobody Thinks I’m going to miss those old Hallmark Christmas moves…someday. Where else can you find so many happy endings? With all these morons taking control of our lives and taking away our religion, our free speech, our jobs, our dreams and Christmas wishes….happy endings are getting harder to come by…

Pass the Kleenex.

Thoughts on the Movie: Lincoln

Nobody Remembers

I must admit. I didn’t want to see Spielberg’s version of Lincoln. As you know, I am tired of rehashing the Civil War through the narrow lens of the horror of slavery….which WAS horrible, but so often nowadays the history is being repeated relentlessly to evoke guilt and submission from the ancestors of those people who used slaves as cheap labor, and how a generation of white people, who did NONE of those crimes, are being brainwashed to believe that they are still responsible for the horrors of their ancestors.

Politicians have used that guilt market simply to get votes and power. Not that prejudice doesn’t exist, it does…but now it’s double.

I was talking to my friend Mona the other day, and we were both complaining. She was telling me about how she was left standing—at a meat counter. There were two heavy set black older women behind the counter, and one skinny young white women. When she spoke to the black woman to place an order, they looked down, and ignored her. I find this too happening to me. They are SUPPOSE to be friendly to you , the customer, take your order— but too many black people do not even look at your, OR talk to you..and you know they are thinking “Why are you here..go away. I don’t like white people. I don’t have to serve you. ”

The white young girls came up to Mona…and said, “Have you been helped?”

“I thought I was…but we’re still waiting.”

A black person reading this might be thinking: Well, all white people hate black people so you deserve to be ignored

Did Obama’s reelection make any difference in the prejudices of both races? NOPE.

But back to the movie…it’s mostly about the fact that it was the Republican Party that worked so very hard to free the slaves, against the Democrats. That point was repeated throughout. Daniel Day Lewis almost becomes Lincoln. Sally Fields, is perfect as his wife, and Tommy Lee Jones, as you’ve heard, portrays a fireball of a Congressmen.

It also shows the corruption that politicians use to get their way. Lincoln had to bribe members of Congress with positions and money, to get enough votes to pass the 13th amendment. And while the movie makes no judgment on the rights of Presidents to bribe with money and power, in Lincoln’s case you tend to forgive the man because his case was so righteous.

My main thought after the movie, as everyone was talking about how good it was, was the sheer irony. Now, our first black President has worked to put us all back in chains. His cause is not one of liberty, but of taking a “republic ” and making it a dictatorship. He thinks HIS cause of redistributing wealth is the right one.

But, it’s not the cause of liberty, it’s the cause of so many other communists that have enslaved a people before him.

How ironic, that the first black man in history to lead the American nation, a nation who so many thousands had died for to free the black man from bondage, is going to lead the whole nation ..right back into it.

I wonder, what Lincoln would say about that.

If you have to make a choice between Denzel Washington and Lincoln, Nobody Suggests you see Lincoln. Do you really need to see another dark movie about an alcoholic?

Lincoln was worth the money. But better take a dictionary, back then, our congressmen were actually educated.

Nobody Remembers:What Would Ronald Reagan Do?

Nobody Remembers

Ronald Reagan….the last great President of the United States.

I must admit, I was devastated by the news that Obama was being allowed to remain in power. Already he is off to Asia and you can bet a Hawaii vacation will be the first stop before he visits all those ‘democracies’ like Burma and Cambodia, and Thailand. I’m sure the whole Obama plantation is just Inching to get on Air Force One and get out of here.

They can leave. We can’t.

As I tried to get out of shock, it all came to me as clear as a bell. (I’ll write about it Monday) I had been incredibly stupid. Incredible gullible. Rayless. Ravaged by blind hope. How long had I been in this euphonious cloud…this American Dream fog? How STUPID I had been. How many hours had I spent listening to conservative talk shows, and reading all the popular pundits?

Had I not learned ANYTHING in my life?

While I listened to all the people I always listened to: Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and Laura Ingram— all of them had the same message: Hang in there. we will win in the end. This is not the time to give up…

I actually heard Glenn Beck listen to a man who was closing his company and he told him, “You must keep the Constitution in your heart.”

Oh right….That will feed his family. And by the way…How is that Constitution working for us lately Glenn?

We’re obviously…just out numbered said EVERYONE.  We’ll just get more conservatives next time around.  Already Fox has suggested running Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio in 2016. Amnesty is being suggested. It’s the only way we can win now.

To the people, who are losing everything they have, and knowing that in the next four years, they will lose so much they might NEVER recover…all of this is too little. Too late.

You just wait! We’ll get em in 2016! Obama won fair and square!

Nobody was thinking: There’s something wrong with this picture. Notoriously wrong.

Like many people, I reached out for comfort to an old friend, wrote him a long letter, and later regretted it. I was in too much emotional pain. Dumping my life’s events on him…luckily, he is one in a million and understood.

On the radio, I heard a man say that he was shutting down his Chemical Company. He just couldn’t make a living anymore with all the government regulations. On the Drudge Report, a man in Las Vegas said that he was lying off almost half of his work force.

In St. Louis, not far from where I live, Boeing is going to lay off thousands. It will be the last of the big companies to be destroyed here. Ford, Chrysler, Budweiser, all went down during Obama’s first term.

Monsanto…is still here. But they are like Fort Knox. You never met anyone who works for them. I’m beginning to think there are little Chinese guys dressed in white lab coats that just live there, and never come out.

On the News: We MIGHT go into another recession.

Nobody Thinks: What? When did we EVER come out of it?

One poor woman was actually crying on the radio. She had worked in the medical field, and she was going to lose her job. She had discussed it with her husband and they were going to move to Texas.

Glenn Beck has been telling everyone to move to Texas. Nobody asks Texas what they think about that, or if they appreciate it. The last mass immigration from Katrina didn’t work out so well.

Another woman, who had lived in Russia was scared. She grew up in Russia, she told Glenn Beck. And Obama was a communist. She knew communism. She was scared. She couldn’t believe the American people would vote for a communist.

None of us can believe it.

I don’t know if you have noticed, but the people who actually have jobs, are annoyed by all the suffering and crying of the ones who don’t. They just don’t see the problem. They feel very safe. They are happy.

It won’t happen to them. They have all they need. Obama will bring it back. They go to football games, go out to dinner…nothing is wrong.

The only man I heard who was pissed off was Mark Lavine.

Out of all of those voices…just one guy. ..mad.

And that’s what we should all be.

I say, to hell with this “Oh..we’ll wait another four years.”

Look at that Reagan Video. How LONG do we have to wait FOUR MORE YEARS?

This is not a football game.

This isn’t the “democrats” vs the “republicans” and who will win the next game?

This is life and death for some people, but YOU are sold every day, that it’s just like a game.

You lose some, you win some…and we just keep on playing!

That’s NOT what the founders wanted the system to be. That was NOT their intention.

We have a right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursue of Happiness.

And they are not only going to cut short our lives, but take even MORE of our liberties, and completely destroy any attempt we have to even pursue happiness.

In the upcoming months, I’m going to be thinking out loud about all of this. We are more controlled as a society than we have EVER imagined. I’ll try to point out how.

We have fallen into the fate of all people’s in history, who have been controlled and enslaved.

The question is: Can we remain a free people?

Nobody Knows.

Nobody Gets Email: Who Do YOU Trust? Obama, or our Soldiers?

Nobody Gets Email

If you are not living under a rock, then by now you have heard how the President, along with Panetta, (Let’s not forget Hillary) — gave instructions for NO help whatsoever to be given to the poor souls in Benghazi. They did nothing, and watched them be murdered.

The election was more important.

But, despite the order of “no engagement” from Obama, some brave Navy seal men went anyway even though they knew they were outnumbered….and lost their lives.

Hundred of our soldiers are coming back from Iraq and committing suicide, and Ted Turner thinks: that’s a good thing. He thinks it’s because they find out that war’s not good.

No…it’s because all their hard work has been undone by Obama. Their buddies have died in vain.

Nobody Thinks we should send Ted Turner to do time in a Iraq jail.

Hillary has now said she might just stay with her job, and we all know why. She wants to make sure she is not prosecuted for her crimes.  If they stay in power, we must as citizens force our Congressmen to impeach them all.

Anyway….these pictures say it all: Whose side are you on? Our soldiers? Or Obama telling lies right in front of your eyes? You might want choose.

Look at that last picture, and TELL me, your not mad….Every American, Democrat, Republican and Independents… should be outraged. (Thanks to Pattie)

Nobody Remembers the 25th of October

Nobody Remembers

October 25.

Yesterday I was watching the day’s news events, and was thinking to myself, upon hearing the swearing remarks of Obama about Romney in an interview,…..”Wow. That’s a first. ” I was ashamed for this man who thinks its cool to cuss. Bill Clinton made oral sex very popular in our grade schools, and Obama is helping the kids learn how to cuss out people they don’t like.

What class.

It was a day to remember…and so I thought I’d put the day in more historical perceptive. I looked up other important events that happened on October 25 throughout history—Let’s compare them to yesterday…shall we?

Here’s the ones I found interesting:

1492 Columbus’ fleet sites “Zandislands” (Ragged Island Range, Bahamas)-(Now filled with homes of rich democrats)

1760 George III ascends the British throne

1764 John Adams marries Abigail Smith (marriage lasts 54 years)

1825 Erie Canal opens, linking Great Lakes & Atlantic Ocean

1861 Telegraph message sent from St Louis to SF

1870 Postcards 1st used in US

1881 Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday & Clanton engage in “Shootout at OK Corral”

1884 1st World Series OK by AA, Providence (NL) sweeps NY Mets (AA) in 3 (3?)

1924 “Little Orphan Annie” comic strip 1st published (Giving all mothers a reason to pray they’d never have a redheaded child.)

1929 Former Interior Sec Albert Fall convicted of accepting $100,000 bribe. (Now—all polticians take bribes, and give them out: welfare checks, birth control pills, phones…housing…amnesty….)

1930 1st football game in Atlantic City Convention Center.

1930 1st scheduled transcontinental air service began.

1932 Benito Mussolini promises to remain dictator for 30 years  (Something Obama will do in his “second” term.)

1940 Benjamin O Davis Dr became 1st Black general in US Army. (And YOU thought it was Colin Powell.)

1941 16,000 Jews massacred in Odessa Ukraine

1946 1st trial against Nazi war criminals (Nuremberg)

1955 Tappan sells 1st microwave oven (I have it in my basement)

1960 1st electronic wrist watch placed on sale, NYC  (And probably first one stolen)

1960 Cuba nationalizes all remaining US businesses

1961 USSR performs nuclear test at Novaya Zemlya USSR

1964 USSR performs nuclear test at Novaya Zemlya USSR

1971 Roy Disney dedicates Walt Disney World. (Where everyone could see the Presidents actually say something important.)

1974 Air Force fires 1st ICBM

1979 USSR performs underground nuclear test

1975 USSR’s Venera 10 makes day-side Venus landing (fortunately, they left the dogs at home.)

1984 USSR performs nuclear test at Novaya Zemlya USSR  (Somebody want to tell me why the Russians like to explode bombs on this date?)

1988 France performs nuclear test at Muruora Island. (The last time France performed anything.)

2001 Windows XP first became available (And Nobody misses it more than me.)

2004 Fidel Castro, Cuba’s President, announces that transactions using the American Dollar will be banned by November 8. (Castro was ahead of his time.)

2009 The 25 October 2009 Baghdad bombings kills 155 and wounds at least 721. (Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize for that one.)

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, on this day, October 25, 2012

2012  Barack Hussein Obama, the first Black President, calls his opponent, Mitt Romney who is running in this year’s election..a Bullshitter, meaning the office of the Presidency was just brought down to the level of a 7th grader.

Unfortunately , President Obama’s deeds on this day are not really one of the great things that happened….nevertheless, it might be a first for the record books.

People expected great things from their first black President, what they got was…in the words of XP–an error of bad code.

Time to update, don’t you think?

The Last Debate—The Flapping Flag

Nobody Reports

Here’s the lowdown on the debate tonight: Mitt stayed above petty attacks, and Obama made long speeches about how he was going to do all the things Mitt says he is going to do.

I’m beginning to think that’s his strategy. Talk like a conservative.

Mitt looked Presidential, Obama looked angry. Mitt looked humble, Obama looked cocky. And he acted cocky too.

Obama is running on the same promises he ran on before. By now, it’s really boring. There were times last night when Obama was talking that I was almost falling asleep. Not much of what he says he has done matches reality. And he keeps repeating over and over the same old lines: Add teachers, and jobs, and tax the rich people, and add more teachers…

Nobody knew Mitt was going to win tonight because 1st) He has wanted to be President for some time now, he’s hungry for it:  and 2nd)…and this may seem silly, but like many people looking for a win, I was searching for that lucky charm tonight before the debate, and I got it.

It’s not scientific at all. I was taking my nightly walk around the block tonight, and every night, there is one house that I consider sacred. At this house, there is a very tall flag pole in the front yard, with a big American flag that is there night and day.  You can see this flag from the next block because he has three floodlights on it. It must have cost a good $800 to put up. This is the house of a VERY proud American, and not afraid to show it.

I’m usually deep in thought when I’m walking around the block but tonight—for the first time ever, I heard that flag flap…loudly in the wind as I walked by. It was a snap, a loud snap. It made me turn….. As if it was saying to me…’YES. I AM still here, and I WILL win.”

And I was thinking to myself…you know, that the first time you’ve heard that flag snap.  In fact, when was the last time you even heard that sound?

Okay. I don’t get out much…but tonight I took it as a  sign.

As I looked at that flag tonight, I knew Romney would win. It was going to be a GOOD night. I just knew it. It was a gut feeling.

I also knew the Cardinals would lose.

Hey! Donald Trump says he always has gut feelings, why can’t I?

Tonight was a very good night. Tonight, it was obvious which man had studied, and which man thought he could just get by on his slick tongue.  Tomorrow you won’t believe your ears when all the democratic minions spin how wonderful Obama was…but anyone who actually watched the debate, will know. Obama was…grasping. He’s going down.

I HAVE been planning on buying one of those “RIP” Halloween plastic gravestones to put under my 1776 flag that I have flying on my porch, if Obama wins.

But now, I just might have to add another flag…and a maybe a few floodlights of my own.

Yes, it was a GOOD night.

And when Mitt Romney becomes Preisdent, it will be an even better year.

Tony La Russa, Girls, Life, and Baseball

Nobody Notes:

If you don’t like baseball, skip this…because it’s long and I just had to write it. If you do, I hope you find a few common themes in your life to compare, and decide to share it–Joyanna.

Nobody’s Reports

“I quit!” I told my mother. I don’t WANT to learn how to cook!” I couldn’t think of anything more boring than pouring batter in a pan and then putting icing on a cake.

It was the first time I had stood up to my mother. She had enrolled me in the “Brownies” and to become a full-fledged Girl Scout, you had to get the “badge” of cooking. I wanted to rip that little badge off of every Girl Scout that went around proudly displaying it on their ne Girl Scout uniform.  It was a shock to my poor mother, but to me, life was unfair. My father had started a little league baseball team in our small home town of Naples, Florida, and he had made my brother the star pitcher.

I resented him so much for being chosen for this incredible position in my parent’s eyes, that I would sit high up in a tree behind first base, and pout every game. And then it occurred to me, one night while I was sitting in that tree watching my brother perform brilliantly, making my father and mother so proud, that my older brother could get hit in the head with a pitch, and they would have to call an ambulance and all of us would wonder if my brother would live or die. I didn’t want him to DIE!  A knock-down and a few coughs would have made me feel a lot better.

The fact is, I just wanted more of my parent’s attention. It didn’t matter how many straight A report cards I brought home, I could never be the star my brother was.

Did I resent him? YES! Was I a sinner for even having the thought? Was there something inside of me that wanted him..less popular?

Come on…be honest. Even dogs get jealous of each other.

Later on in college I was the same rebel: “I will NOT declare a major! Why do I have to? I want to take EVERYTHING! It’s MY money! I quit.”

As much as I wanted to perform some magic thing to make my position as the measly girl in the family who was only suppose to grow up and cook, life was almost becoming unbearable. And I was only six.

I was learning that life was not fair. There was so such thing as “Girl’s little league teams” in the fifties. My father, who quietly sympathized with my plight, felt my anguish and let me warm up the catcher, Rocky. Yes, I would pitch endlessly to the ten- year-old Rocky before the games, who was even at ten, perfect for the position. I LOVED pitching balls to Rocky. My dad would always pat me on the back and say “Good job.”  I lived for that moment.

Rocky later on, grew up to take me to my first dance…and he had to fight the school board for the privilege because he was in Junior High and I was still in Sixth Grade.

Which brings me to my point: Girls…in their minds, from the earliest age know they cannot compete with the boys, and some of us want to.  Before those hormones of puberty push you into reading Vogue magazine, and trying on lipstick,  many girls WANT to run, catch, throw, tackle…and hit the home run.  To the Tomboys, like me, it was the first hard lesson in life: You grow up. Face the facts. But that doesn’t mean after puberty, that we don’t compete.

Oh yes we do.

Last night, I attended a book signing held at the Public Country Library here in St. Louis, where Tony La Russa talked for quite awhile about his life as a World Series winning coach for the Cardinals.

After he talked they took questions from the audience. One young blond jumped up, and with tears in her voice, expressed her undying devotion to the coach who had ruled her whole life. In fact, she had bought him a letter that she wrote when she was ten.  TEN! Wow.

I thought the courage of that young woman remarkable. To stand up in front of 800 people and declare how this one man had influenced her whole life—may not seem a hard thing to many, but that takes some guts.

His influence went way beyond baseball.

And then, another woman stood up, and expressed the thankfulness she had of all the family memories—and how she had stood up for the coach, in all the tough times. She was a fierce and loyal fan. I could just picture her verbally assaulting anyone who had dared attack Tony’s coaching moves.

Whoa. Do NOT give that woman a bat.

The emotion from both these women were written all over faces of the other Cardinal fans in the audience.

And that’s the beauty of baseball.  It’s an amazing thing this game…how it units whole towns. Whole cities…and when the World Series comes about…a whole nation.

I was asking myself, while I was sitting there…seeing people being turned into emotional little kids—Were they remembering  the days of Dad throwing them the ball, the trips to the ballpark with their parents? (The endearing father and son sitting next to me were.) What is it about the game that units people into actually becoming winners and losers right along with their home teams?

As people, we go around in tribes, that’s true…but in  baseball, it’s more than that.

It gives everyone watching, that all important need to all humans:  physiologically hope.

Back in the eighties I was coming out of an extremely painful divorce. I went on a “blind” date who took me to a Cardinal baseball game. It was that night, that I saw my first home run.

Most people see it when they are kids. I was fortunate enough to see my first major league home run when I was well into my twenties.  Like a lot of things, you have to see a home run  when your older to fuller appreciate the miracle of it.  It’s like—if you took your one-year old to Disneyworld…he’s not going to get it. (Trust me, I did that.)

Jack Clark hit that home run out into center field…and that ball sailed into the air, beyond eyesight, for the longest time. Easily…almost in slow motion. Who could DO such a thing? That came out of THAT man? Isn’t that impossible?

As I walked out of that stadium I was so ecstatic that my “blind date” knew he had made a mistake bringing me there in the first place. He never asked me out again, and I got hooked on baseball.

Five years later had to unhook myself. The passion it takes to watch every single game, takes a lot out of your psych if you’re an emotional person. I remember one season, where the Cardinals had just missed going to the World Serious, and after my father had died a long a painful death from brain cancer, I was more than ready when spring came. Baseball gave me hope…to start living again. Brushing off the cobwebs of winter, the constant struggle of making a living, paying bills, putting up with emotional pain sometimes unavoidable—Baseball would come and wipe the plate clean.

After all those guys on the field start with a clean plates too, and then…grinding out..day by day..most of the time, striking out…but in the game of baseball…there were moments and IF you witnessed those moments then you felt that YES…in your life, you could have those moments too.

If you just keep plugging along, you too could win the World Series..just like the team…just like those guys…they never give up. YOU must not give up.

Baseball is almost a microcosm of the American Dream: Work hard, be honest. Play fair…you will be rewarded. Baseball could not have been invented in any other country. It is a moral game…and has the “rule of law” that everyone must play by…at least that’s how it was meant to be in its purest form.

I remember one particular moment in the Cardinal playoffs in, I think , 1985. (Some baseball historian might remember the game) It was an extremely cold night. I was in a short outfit, with no coat, had managed to get down on the lower deck…I was standing very close to the field, on the third base line, and some guy was standing next to me. We were watching a small man, pitch a no-hitter.

His name was John Tutor.

That whole stadium of 50,000 people were quiet. Mesmerized. As I watch pitch after pitch..those balls just floated to the plate.

Floated. Not fast…just floated. As if in slow motion or some kind of time warp. My eyes were surely deceiving me. Nobody could hit him. Nobody.

I was witnessing one of those rare moments that happen……….

Okay…You can see that that memory took me BACK to that moment—sorry. What I was trying to say is that after that long illness where I had to take care of my dying father, I needed a lift in life. And baseball gave it to me in spades.

Now, to Tony LaRussa:

Tony LaRussa, was amazing last night.  I myself have gone cold turkey on baseball, because I know how easily I can use it as an addiction for ignoring responsibilities that I need to attend to— so I didn’t watch many games in 2011. But one thing I did realized as I was sitting there:  There are genius’ in every field, and the moment Tony talked, it was clear to my mind that this man was clearly a one-of-a-kind baseball mind that was —genuis.

HIs memory alone…….good god…This man remembers every pitch, the day it was tossed, the scores…I can’t even remember what day it is sometime.

My husband calls me from work and I say “Uh..what day is this?”

But memory alone doesn’t put you at the top.

There are just a few men in history that stand out.  As a musician I can only explain it thus: Take the hundreds of musicians that have played Moonlight Sonata.

I’ve heard most of the greats, but no one could even compare to Arthur Rubenstein’s rendition. And he explained it this way: When he played anything, he put all his experiences into it: everything he had every felt, every thought he had ever had–into that moment when he played

And that’s what I believe made Tony La Russa’s coaching life above most others in history.

I think, he put everything he felt— every emotion, every thought about life—into those moments where he had to control the game.

I could be wrong, I haven’t read the book yet.

It’s just My Nobody Opinion, and from a “girl” no doubt. By the end of the night, Tony looked tired. He had done a book signing early in the day…signing over thousands of books could not be easy. All I could tell him when I finally got to my turn was, “You don’t have too much longer to go.”

I was trying to tell him in my own way, that I admired his stamina. But, I’m sure coming from a older women who still wore lipstick, it sounded stupid.

“Really?” he said. I don’t think he believed me.

I am sorry I missed my hometown Cardinal 2011 Championship season–  but I could tell by the faces on the people in the audience last night, that the Cardinals had lifted many a heart from the insanity going on in the country at this moment.

If we had Tony La Russa’s as Presidents, our country would come back from this seemingly hopeless state that we are in. Yes, Tony’s impeccable leadership shows us one thing: If you can come back in baseball…you can come back in anything.

And guess what? –Since I have learned that lesson well…I have decided to learn how to cook….after all these years.

In baseball, and life, anything is possible.

My father…would be proud.

I can almost hear him saying as I write these words, “Good job, honey, good job. Keep at it—someday you just might hit your first home run.”

Michelle’s Not So Victorious Victory School Lunches

Nobody Wins

Alex, is a big boy for 14. I have watched him grow up, and fill out, and last summer he was what you could call..obese.  I’d always see him at the pool—he never swam. Puberty had hit him, and he was there for the girls. And every day, he would get a big Mountain Dew.

“Hey, Alex, if you would quit drinking  that big Mountain Dew each day, and swim a few laps, you’d be thin by the end of the summer!”

He smiled really big. “I know! But I can’t stop drinking Mountain Dew! I gotta have my Mountain Dew!”

Alex could care less. He was not about to give up his Mountain Dew.

My son, at 14 looked a lot like Alex. But, one day he found an old calorie counting book in my library and starting counting calories.  He lost all his fat. He learned so much about how to lose weight he now helps others do it. And he did it all by himself.

But not every kid, or adult is the same. We all have different metabolisms. Our food has changed. Even the healthy food we eat is deprived of nutrients because our soils have been depleted. We are not getting the nutrients they had so long ago.

And don’t even get me into Monsanto…but you can’t just blame it on the food.

When I was young, kids played baseball after school. We walked everywhere. Now it’s not safe anymore for the kids to walk to the parks or even to their friends homes.  Look around you, you hardly EVER see kids playing baseball or football in the parks. They are all playing video games….for hours on end.

And now, Obama and Michelle have decided that they know how to slim down the kids, and the kids are complaining about the new menu.  They hate it so much they are now throwing the food away,  and going hungry.

Under the new regulations, cafeterias are required to serve twice as many fruits and vegetables while limiting proteins and carbohydrates. For an average high school student, that means two baked fish nuggets, a cup of vegetables, half a cup of mashed potatoes, one whole grain roll and 8 ounces of fat free milk is the fuel that served to get them through their last four hours of classes.

“We hear them complaining around 1:30 or 2:00 that they are already hungry,” said Linda O’Connor, a high school English teacher at Wallace County High School in Sharon Springs, Kansas. “It’s all the students, literally all the students… you can set your watch to it.”

What does that tell you? These kids will store MORE fat due to stress.

Remember when Michelle starting planting gardens on the White House lawn? She didn’t start that. She stole that idea from Eleanor Roosevelt. Eleanor spurred 20 million home gardens by planting one on the White House grounds in 1943. But she didn’t go so far as to dictate the schools’ lunch menus.  Now we have millions of “community” gardens, thanks to Michelle. Commune living is being incubated all over the country…quietly.

So, what are they telling the kids that are hungry because a couple of carrots just doesn’t cut it for the whole day?

Snack.

Okay! Those kids will go to the nearest quickie mart and buy a nice big Mountain Dew  with some  Hostess Cupcakes, Twinkies, and Ding Dongs.

That’s what I would do, in fact, I used to do it. I never got fat from it. I walked everywhere.

Obesity is a problem, but everyone knows, the more exercise you get, the less you weigh.

Nobody Thinks they should put gym back into the schools.  When they took it out, all the kids started getting fat. Then the schools were so afraid of kids getting hurt, or bullied, or whatever—nobody was “equal” so they took it out.

The kids would lose weight, and not get hungry for cupcakes and soda. Their bodies would stop craving sugar. I know…Michelle got the “Let’s Move” program going—but how’s that working out? Like the rest of their big ideas…you see nothing.

You can’t tell people what to eat. They will rebel. Tell Michelle to keep her rules out of our schools.  It’s one thing to suggest healthy food, it’s quite another to control every single kid’s food intake for their whole day.

That’s a dictator. That’s not freedom…and Nobody Wins..

Nobody is 83, But Somebody IS Tired

Nobody Gets Email

This HAS been around the internet for a year or so I think, but it does a good job of expressing the average person’s sentiments. It claims that Bill Cosby said these things, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did not. So Nobody means any offense if he did NOT. The person that is putting this email and trying to use his image so people will read it should either be hired as a political writer or debunked as a liar by Bill Cosby and the truth is, I’m off to watch a Harry Potter movie, and I just wanted to pass my email along. To research whether Bill Cosby actually said this, is of not serious matter to me. What matters is the content. Since I will be 83 sooner than later, I must admit, spending my time researching whether or not Bill Cosby said this, instead of watching a movie with my husband on his day off…is a no brainer.

And now you know, Nobody is sometimes just another lazy American, BUT…I am NOT on welfare. (Thanks to Pattie)

***********************

 I’m 83 and I’m Tired”

I’m 83. Except for brief period in the 50’s when I was doing my National
Service, I’ve worked hard since I was 17. Except for some serious
Health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn’t call in sick in nearly
40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn’t inherit my job or my
Income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as
Though retirement was a bad idea, and I’m tired. Very tired.

I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth” to people who
Don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being told the government will take
The money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy
To earn it.

I’m tired of being told that Islam is a “Religion of Peace,” when every day I
Can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and
Daughters for their family “honor”; of Muslims rioting over some slight
Offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren’t
“believers”; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning
Teenage rape victims to death for “adultery”; of Muslims mutilating the
Genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur’an and
Shari’a law tells them to.

I’m tired of being told that out of “tolerance for other cultures” we must let
Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques
And madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia, New Zealand,
UK, America and Canada , while no one from these countries are allowed to
Fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other
Arab country to teach love and tolerance..

I’m tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global
Warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I’m tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help
Support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ
Rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses
Or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?

I’m tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all
Parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful
Mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting
Caught. I’m tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I’m really tired of people who don’t take responsibility for their lives and
Actions. I’m tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination
Or big-whatever for their problems.

I’m also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and
Early 20’s be-deck themselves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making
Themselves unemployable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I’m damn tired. But I’m also glad to be 83. Because, mostly, I’m not
Going to have to see the world these people are making. I’m just sorry for
My granddaughter and their children. Thank God I’m on the way out and not
On the way in.
