How to Insult France, Veterans, and Just About Everbody Else
Nobody Cares
Did you see the faces on the war veterans today in France, at the 70th aniversery of D-Day? I’m so glad none of use could read their minds as they were staring at our President.
I bet at least 99 percent of them couldn’t believe what a classless President we have…it doesn’t matter how well he said his speech…how noble he thinks he sounds.
He chewed gum throughout the whole ordeal, and basically acted like a spoiled brat.
Does anybody care?
I’m surprised he didn’t chew gum while he was speaking.
A Special Story for D-Day
Nobody Remembers Shifty
A True Story by Chuck Yeager and he is 100% right. It is amazing how much publicity the media gives some drunks, dope addicts stories and doesn’t give a hoot about a good true story.
And think of the media circus, flags at half-staff, and all the things that were said of Whitney Houston when she died and Michael Jackson when he died. . This hero died with barely anyone’s notice.
“Shifty” By Chuck Yeager
Shifty volunteered for the airborne in WWII and served with Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 101st Airborne Infantry.
If you’ve seen Band of Brothers on HBO or the History Channel, you know Shifty. His character appears in all 10 episodes, and Shifty himself is interviewed in several of them.
I met Shifty in the Philadelphia airport several years ago. I didn’t know who he was at the time. I just saw an elderly gentleman having trouble reading his ticket.
I offered to help, assured him that he was at the right gate, and noticed the “Screaming Eagle,” the symbol of the 101st Airborne, on his hat.
Making conversation, I asked him if he’d been in the 101st Airborne or if his son was serving. He said quietly that he had been in the 101st.
I thanked him for his service, then asked him when he served, and how many jumps he made.
Quietly and humbly, he said “Well, I guess I signed up in 1941 or so, and was in until sometime in 1945..” at which point my heart skipped.
At that point, again, very humbly, he said “I made the 5 training jumps at Toccoa, and then jumped into Normandy . . . do you know here Normandy is?”At this point my heart stopped. I told him “yes, I know exactly where Normandy is, and I know what D-Day was.”
At that point he said “I also made a second jump into Holland , into Arnhem ..”I was standing with a genuine war hero … and then I realized that it was June, just after the anniversary of D-Day. I asked Shifty if he was on his way back from France , and he said “Yes… And it ‘s real sad because, these days, so few of the guys are left, and those that are, lots of them can’t make the trip.”My heart was in my throat and I didn’t know what to say.
I helped Shifty get onto the plane and then realized he was back in coach while I was in First Class. I sent the flight attendant back to get him and said that I wanted to switch seats. When Shifty came forward, I got up out of the seat and told him I wanted him to have it, that I’d take his in coach.
He said “No, son, you enjoy that seat. Just knowing that there are still some who remember what we did and who still care is enough to make an old man very happy.” His eyes were filling up as he said it.And mine are brimming up now as I write this.Shifty died on Jan. l7th after fighting cancer.
There was no parade.
No big event in Staples Center.
No wall-to-wall, back-to-back 24 x 7 news coverage.
No weeping fans on television. And that’s not right!Let’s give Shifty his own memorial service, online, in our own quiet way. Please forward this email to everyone you know. Especially to the veterans.
Rest in peace, Shifty.
Chuck Yeager, Maj. General [ret.]
P.S. I think that it is amazing how the “media” chooses our “heroes” these days… Elvis, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston & the like.“SHIFTY” – an incredible American hero. Please do me a favor and pass this on so that untold thousands can read it.
We owe no less to our REAL Hero
(Thanks to JR)
Nobody’s Fool: James O’Keefe
Nobody’s Fool
James O’keefe brought us the undercover tape of how one government worker was trying to help prostitutes in the United States, and how to game the system.
In this tape, he sets up fake oil men from the Middle East, who want to involve Susan Sarandon in making a film about fracking, in order to make sure that America does not attain energy independence.
Watch her manager’s face…all he is thinking about is money, money, money.
I have always thought the Hollywood stars are making big money off promoting the liberal agenda, and we see that here.
James O’Keefe wins the Nobody’s Fool Award for the week, for exposing, as he says, “The Truth.”
Go get James! Keep up the good work!
Chuck Schumer: First Amendment not Absolute?
Nobody Wins
Remember last month when I posted the New States Constitution that our Federal Government Paid $25 million dollars to some dweebs in California to write?
And remember when that Constitution said that it should be in the hands of the government, to give the final say on who gets money for campaigning?
Well…Harvard Graduate Chuck Schumer is getting right on that…he wants to put a few more nails in the first amendment, and using the most powerful argument used by all politicians since the beginning of the country, he credited that the founders, would support his idea..(Only he got the wrong founder.)
Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, stumbled Tuesday over basic American history, crediting Thomas Jefferson for authorship of the Bill of Rights during a debate over the First Amendment and campaign finance.
“I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on what’s being proposed here, he’d agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute,” Mr. Schumer said.
While Jefferson is deemed the principal author of the Declaration of Independence, he was not intimately involved in the writing of the Constitution or the Bill of Rights, which is the first 10 amendments to that founding document.
Uh…the first amendment cannot be absolute? You’re kidding me right? Well, if the first amendment is not absolute, then neither are any of the others. So in Mr. Schumer’s world, the right of citizens to bear arms (not absolute): no troops can be quartered in private homes: (that could change) Guards against unreasonable searches, and arrests and seizures of property (well, that’s already been destroyed) Obama can arrest anyone in the country, without a trial now…so that’s not absolute.
Well, one falls, so go all the others…in fact go read them, and weep.
While it is true that big corporations run the country, because we now have a plutocracy, if the democrats get to decide WHO gets to give money, they would make sure that the Koch brothers were at the top of the list, and George Soros wouldn’t even be on it, or any of their movie star friends.
While most of the time, I think the politicians know their history, this time, I think Schumer really did make this mistake.
He could care less who wrote the Bill of Rights…he just wanted to use Jefferson’s name.
Most of the Bill of Rights has been decimated.
You know what Jefferson say about Chuck’s interpretation of the Bill of Rights?
“Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.”
To which the real writer of the Bill of Rights would add:
“The diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty.”
Gee Chuck, if your going to site the founders to further your dirty work, at LEAST get it right. It’s a good thing some of us know still know how to read.
Obama…He wants us all to know…he’s TRYING.
Nobody Wonders
Obama was caught exercising…in his five-star Marriott Hotel in Poland. Everyone says that these pictures were unauthorized, but noticed how well placed the poster behind Obama, with the picture of the American flag and the female soldier is positioned behind him. It’s his theme for the week: Obama LOVES the soldiers.
Come on. The Secret Service searched every single inch of that room before he did this. Any hidden camera would have been stripped out. I know this, because I’ve seen them in action, they look under EVERYTHING. And notice…whose on that TV? Can you say…photo op?
Nobody also wonders, why he kept that long-sleeved outfit on. Really Mr. President? You don’t want Putin to see those gigantic biceps?
The Pope—Concerned the Future of the World is: Dogs
Nobody Reports
I find this almost….sad:
VATICAN CITY (RNS) Pope Francis on Monday (June 2) warned married couples against substituting cats and dogs for children — a move that he said leads to the “bitterness of loneliness” in old age.
Of course, the Pope is right. We are going to have a lot of “bitter” old and childless people in the future.
The problem is economic. Back in years past, before the great economy of the United States was shipped overseas and globalization was pushed by the politicians in order to benefit, the global international companies and the stocks of their favorite Senators, having kids was affordable.
The middle class has been sacrificed for the big boy’s monopolies.
So, the Marxists that now make up the democratic party, now push abortions, and single moms.
Before, a working couple could afford two to three kids, raise them in a decent neighborhood, and even afford to send them to college.
Those days are gone. Vanished, like the old Mickey Mouse.
Is it any wonder, with the price of everyday living, that young married couples are choosing to have pets instead of children? Food prices alone, car insurance, cell phones (which you MUST have) cable TV, add it all up, there’s not much left to save for college, or even nights out at the Pizza Palace.
And the global leaders prefer that. They want fewer people on the planet, not more.
The Pope shouldn’t be talking to the ‘people’ –he should be demanding the governments get OUT of running people’s lives and businesses.
Otherwise…let the Catholic Church send a check to every parent for every child.
Hey—- Putin starting doing it in Russia.
One in five children live in poverty now in the United States. Why on EARTH would any adult want to have kids he cannot afford to feed? Unless of course, your government supports you…in return for your vote. If you are rich, no problem. But the middle class is gone, and inflation keeps rising. When dogs become more expensive than children, we might see this reversed: But anyone who has changed diapers for three years, might not care.
Besides—- what old age? Obamacare is going to kill most everyone over 65.
This Pope may be a nice guy, but Nobody Thinks, until he becomes a heavy thinker–he should stay out of politics, and get himself a dog.
The Huffington Post: Obama Saves the World…
Nobody Flashes
Yesterday, Obama committed high treason. Okay, so Bill Clinton gave Plutonian to North Korea, but he was smart enough to not flaunt it in our faces. The talk today, EVERYWHERE— was about Obama releasing five of the most dangerous terrorists in Guantanamo Bay, illegally.
And WHAT was the headline on the Huffington Post?
AP
EPA Releases Highly-Anticipated Limits On Power Plant Emissions… 30 Percent Cut By 2030… ‘We Have A Moral Obligation To Act… The Science Is Clear… The Risks Are Clear’… One Of Strongest Actions Ever Taken By U.S. To Fight Climate Change… Could Be A Defining Moment In President’s Legacy… Agency Projects $90 Billion In Climate, Health Benefits… Future Of New Rules Depends On States… No, Cutting Carbon Emissions Won’t Ruin The Economy…
The fact that Obama is going to rape us all and SAVE the planet.
And I thought the dubiously idiotic Arianna went back to Hungary. (Wait, she isn’t from Hungary? She should be. )
Why DO Vets Want to Go BACK to War…?
Nobody’s Opinion
It’s a question that I always wondered about: Why do men, go back again and again to war? I’ve heard countless stories on Vets being injured, and wanting to go back to their unit.
Sounds crazy.
Sebastian’s opinion, is that the men form bonds, that NO one can match when they come home. By his reasoning, going shopping for baby diapers, is no match for the adrenaline rush while under fire, with a small unit of men, who form the most perfect emotional union ever experienced on the planet.
He makes it sound like the sweetest drug on earth.
And certainly, this war, more than any other war, is being fought by a very small percent of men, who keep going back:
Since the U.S. went to war in Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003, about 2.5 million members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and related Reserve and National Guard units have been deployed in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, according to Department of Defense data. Of those, more than a third were deployed more than once.
In fact, as of last year nearly 37,000 Americans had been deployed more than five times, among them 10,000 members of guard or Reserve units. Records also show that 400,000 service members have done three or more deployments. Beyond that, far more soldiers in this all-volunteer military have been back for two, three, four or five tours, and the long-term impact on hearing and from traumatic brain injuries caused by improvised bombs will be felt for years.
Nobody Thinks, there is something missing here.
Not only are they coming back and being miserable, they are committing suicide at alarming rates. More than 69 percent of veteran suicides were among individuals aged 50 years or older, the VA reported.
Can you say, “When’s my appointment?”
Feb 1 (Reuters) – The most extensive study yet by the U.S. government on suicide among military veterans shows more veterans are killing themselves than previously thought, with 22 deaths a day – or one every 65 minutes, on average
Nobody Thinks there is a lot more to this: After all, the Vets from WWII didn’t come back and commit suicide or even WANT to go back to the killing fields. What is different about today?
FIRST: While we were attacked on 9/11, Bush’s little Foghorn speech on ground zero was NOTHING compared to the rallying cry of FDR. It was okay to be patriotic then. Not anymore. We had to get the U.N. permission….that took a long time.
Not to say that Bush wasn’t loved by the troops, but the media was full of “How we deserved to be attacked on 9/11.”
Everyone knows, but nobody says, these volunteers were mostly from conservative families.: Patriots answering the call.
SECOND: Unlike WWII where the men came home after a great victory, the country was bursting with confidence and opportunity, and the men came home, married their sweethearts, and along came the baby boomers.
They had…one thing that our boys don’t have—-Hope, and Victory.
Where’s our victory in Iraq or Afghanistan? Obama has let it all go. And Bush’s silence is also, to me, unforgivable.
If George W. was a patriot, he would be going on TV shows like Bill Clinton and be fighting mad.
(But, then, there’s Jeb’s push for the White House, isn’t there?)
IN WWII, The enemy was clear. There was no politically correctness going on in WWII.
The Military is now filled with officers who are liberal hacks.
I can see a bit more of Sebastian’s points. Our men come back, after being able to be “men” with other ‘men’ and they come back to this liberally infested politically correct— “Don’t’ offend gays, women, Muslims, or immigrants” —–And by the way, here’s your job at McDonalds.
And then…there’s the wonderful VA. They are not getting care, so they just kill themselves.
Sebastian ends with how in HIS mind, the men want to go to war, because of the bonding, and the adrenaline. He wants to find a way to stop that.
But maybe the battlefield, is the only place left where men can be themselves, feel their own worth, feel like they are making a difference? They can’t at home.
And that won’t stop until you go back to the way things were before: To an America not run by dictators, and globalists—and where America is a dirty that the Commander-in-Chief has to keep lying about.
Marriage, patriotism, a free market economy, good medical care, …and most importantly—Hope. Obama has sapped most all the hope out of this country, and to most of us, it’s almost too painful to watch.
But, it’s not just us that is suffering from the liberals—Look what is happening in Australia:
So…why do men go BACK to war? Is it because they are full of some testosterone maniacal need to kill? Or is it because, there is simply no other place on the planet that makes sense to them?
A Gift to My Brother on his Birthday
Nobody Flashes
Sorry, I was absent today. It was my brother’s birthday, and believe it or not, for the VERY first time, I got to see his son pitch a game.
I can’t tell you what a thrill it was, to see that, mainly, because on my father’s side, we did have a ball player who was on the cardinals team, my uncle Dean. My grandmother even named him Dean, after Dizzy Dean.
And then my father had my brother pitching baseball, and now, my brother has made a hell of a great pitcher out of his son. He could go on to be in the major leagues, that’s how good he is, (and no, I’ve seen enough pitchers to know) but he’s a smart kid, and could do whatever he chooses.
But, let me tell you the main reason I’m posting this: I got this video off of an excellent blog by amfortas about the veterans, and he had this video in the piece, which I am putting here, so that I can send this to my brother.
My brother, was such a great trumpet player, he really was one of the best players in America. (In my opinion, the best.) While he never became nationally famous, For years he entertained the crowds in Chicago. He played rings around this girl, but I thought he would enjoy it, for the sheer beauty of tone.
BECAUSE…as far as I know, my brother has never read my blog. (Sneaky way to get him here, don’t you think? LOL!)
Anyway, GARY…you’re the best! I had a great day watching your son Cody pitch. DAD would be so proud!
Everybody else…excuse me for indulging my family memories, and do enjoy, the little Holland girls wonderful rendition of TAPS.
(Okay Gary, if you are reading this, it’s not MEANT to say you’re getting old, I mean, I know you’re only…what…29?)
